The best kept secret in music

On this debut CD from Inergroove, the band draws you in and rocks you out. Soft spacious chord-play starts off the song "Clossest" as vocalist, Danielle touches on shades of Amy Mann from Evanescence. Then the song rips into blistering guitar riffs and punctuated rhythms. Clean guitar parts throughout the CD are exceptional as guitarist, Evan Wickham and Bassist Mike Joneson work off each other fantastically, creating some memorable interplay. As the CD continues, Danielle takes on characteristics reminiscent of Anne Wilson of Heart with some beautiful subtleties and poignant melody and harmony choices. Jimi T. Thoman keeps a solid drum beat as the band progresses through dynamic changes. There is some great guitar soloing in the songs, "Captured" and "Vacation", with Evan ripping up the fret-board with fire and grace. The breakdown part in "Groove in the Middle" features some mean poppin’ and slappin’ bass funk and the free-fall jam feel of ‘70’s rock. My fave song on the CD is "Make-believe" which has a kind of Zeppelin feel in the clean parts and a monstrous solo despite it’s simplicity. A close second for favorite song would be, "Bring Back the Sun Again" which once again calls to mind the delicacies and intricacies of early Heart. This is a solid first effort from Inergroove with diversity, passion and nuances often missing from today’s popular music.
