This is what you get when four extraordinary musicians coincide under one mind. Nothing short of amazing.

Biography

With the amazing riff-writing talent of Tommy Johnson, singer Karl Hepler is able to create powerful yet melodic vocals spurred by his meticulously crafted lyrics, which are backed by Andrew Faulknier's integral bass lines and the drumming force that is Chris McKinney.

The history of Infidel is a long and coincidental one. During November 1998, Tommy Johnson, Andrew Faulknier, Jeremy Carr (drummer), and Scott Shuler (singer) formed a rock cover band. Then, in April 1999, Jeremy Carr left the nameless band and was replaced by Chad Snider. Still nameless, they performed a few concerts of Creed and Metallica covers. Andrew and Scott were abruptly kicked out in the Summer of 1999 and replaced by Ben Titus and Paul Loy respectively. Paul Loy was eventually replaced by Levi Cleveland, the brother of Patrick Cleveland who was the singer for CrashRyde. Levi then left the band, which came to be known as Decisional. It had become a three-piece with Ben Titus singing and playing bass.

In September 2001, Karl Hepler became friends with Chad Snider, who invited him to join Decisional. The name changed to Wicked Humor, then to Euthanasia, then to Infidel; all in a one-year period. Throughout these name changes, they played five concerts of all original music. As the band began to fall apart, Chad began to skip band practices and the other members had to compensate. So, for a couple of practices, Ben invited Chris McKinney to sit in. Needless to say, he left a good impression, but because he was busy with about ten other bands, he was not able to join Infidel.

In Spring 2003 Ben Titus left the band, which started an erosion of ideals and hopes. As a last effort, Tommy Johnson invited Andrew Faulknier to join Infidel in the Summer of 2003. Confidence started to build and shows were starting to get scheduled... then Chad left the band. This put a big stop on the progress of Infidel, until Karl got in touch with Chris McKinney again. Because of his financial situation, Chris had to quit all of his bands and get a job that took up all of his time. When he quit that job, he was compelled to join Infidel. These strange turn of events led to the creation of the band you know today.

Now, with their talent, passion, and original sound, Infidel has begun a journey to play music professionally.

Lyrics

Problem Child

Written By: Karl Hepler

so much hate
so detest for human life inside of you
you never knew what you were doing

endless lies
ripped your feeble mind and soul apart
holy-conformist induced killing

what have you become?
from blank slate to hardened gun
emotionally besieged all the while
we never knew you were a problem child

shot
into the depths of hell is where you'll go
never knowing what you've done
always taught
that what you've done is for the best of us
blinded by your own ignorance

what have you become?
from blank slate to hardened gun
emotionally besieged all the while
we never knew you were a problem child

your excuse is ignorance
well, that's not good enough for me

maddening thoughts in your head
crippling images
you can not see
what you are doing to me
you hold my life in your hands

what have you become?
from blank slate to hardened gun
emotionally besieged all the while
we never knew you were a problem child

why won't you die?
why won't you die?
why won't you die?
why won't you die?
why won't you die?
why won't you die?
why won't you die?

Red Well

Written By: Karl Hepler

we're right to want to be the ones who
tear down the foundation of
restrictions that bind us to
this pain that keeps our minds so
empty and isolated
so cold and medicated
this life of yours and mine that keeps our heads down

getting further from hope
we look back at our lives
we reach the bottoms of bottles
to live or to die
we're still alive

we live and we succumb to entropy
it warps our minds and degrades
everything around us
silently maddening psychosis surrounds our humble beginnings
and throws us unwantingly

further from hope
we look back at our lives
we reach the bottoms of bottles
to live or to die
we're still alive

in our lives
our hopes bleed dreams
that trickle down our heads
in time our lives
are bloody puddles on the floor

hurry now
for the red well dries
soak up as much as you can
before you meet your end
hurry now
for the red well dries
soak up as much as you can
before you meet your end

further from hope
we look back at our lives
we reach the bottoms of bottles
to live or to die
we're still alive

Nothing but a Lie

Written By: Karl Hepler

Do you love me?
Do you hate me?
Interceding lies unfailing
I confront your wayward crafts
Then fall down to your knees

Push through my skin
Pull away then
Throw me aside to the place where
I confront your wayward crafts
Then fall down to your knees

What do you want?
Who do you love?
Why do you hate?
You push me away
Then try to get back what you made
I'm loving loneliness
I'm loving loneliness

Tear away at my complexion
Breaking all mental perfection
I confront your wayward crafts
Then fall down to your knees

Who's the one to say I'm sorry?
Asking for rebuttle wastes time
I avoid your wayward crafts
You fall down to my knees

What do you want?
Who do you love?
Why do you hate?
You push me away
Then try to get back what you made
I'm loving loneliness
I'm loving loneliness

You ruined me
Before I had a chance to fight back
So know I see
That everything you said to me was
Nothing but a lie

Who's the one to say I'm sorry?
Who's the one to say I'm sorry?
Who's the one who says I'm sorry?
Who's the one to say I'm sorry?

What do you want?
Who do you love?
Why do you hate?
You push me away
Then try to get back what you made
I'm loving loneliness
I'm loving loneliness
