"MTV and INFIDELS sign music licensing agreement"

On January 12, 2007 MTV Networks, a unit of Viacom International, Inc, and Infidels came to terms on a non-exclusive licensing agreement for the use of four of the band’s songs for future MTV programming. This agreement was reached as a collaborative effort between Infidels and Joey Lauren Koch, Music Coordinator for MTV.

MTV is well known for providing some of the best known artists their original break in reaching fans on a global scale. As an emerging artist, Infidels, in partnering with MTV, is excited to begin opening the door to a world of music fans that are currently unfamiliar with the band.

"Music Choice Announces the Winner of their Nationwide Search for Undiscovered Talent"

Unsigned indie rock band "Infidels" to be featured on Music Choice's popular original program,'Fresh Crops.' Best New Artist Grammy Nominees James Blunt, Chris Brown, and Corinne Bailey Rae were all featured on 'Fresh Crops' in 2006.

New York, NY (Billboard Publicity Wire) February 7, 2007 -- Music Choice, the premier multi-platform music network that reaches millions of music fans through their televisions, online and cell phones announced today the winner of their nationwide search for unknown talent to feature on their highly-popular original program, Fresh Crops. The Brooklyn-based band, Infidels, will be featured on the February edition of Fresh Crops airing February 12th to March 11th on Music Choice's free video-on-demand music service, the No. 1 video-on-demand service in the country.

Beginning back in September 2006, Music Choice producers sought to tap the rich mines of unknown, unsigned talent across the United States by offering musicians the chance to be featured on Fresh Crops, a program that showcases the hottest emerging acts across a variety of genres. After reviewing a mountain of submission tapes that each contained 60 seconds of an original music video, it was the Infidels that caught the judges' eyes and ears.

Self-described as an "indie art punk band", Infidels, who have been making music together since 2004 and released their independent EP, Your Hidden Skeleton in 2005, are a perfect fit for the eclectic line-ups that Fresh Crops offers. "Rooted in the Williamsburg artists community, the hotbed of Brooklyn's musical talent, Infidels' modern rock sound and 'do-it-yourself' attitude made them a perfect band to showcase on Fresh Crops," says Justin Prager, Director of Rock & Pop Programming for Music Choice. "For an up-and-coming band the opportunity is a golden one. With close to three million orders for Fresh Crops in 2006, the Infidels are about to be introduced to a huge nationwide audience. In addition, the Infidels have the chance to impress music industry insiders as well; already three artists previously featured on the show, James Blunt, Chris Brown, and Corinne Bailey Rae have gone to garner Grammy nominations for "Best New Artist".

As for Infidels themselves, the potential of this rare chance hasn't been lost on them. "Winning the competition is a great honor for us and we are both excited and proud to have done so. We're very grateful for what is a huge opportunity for us and we hope to make the most of the entire experience", stated Infidels' keyboardist Scott Wortman.

"Best Emerging NYC Band"

Infidels are a Brooklyn four piece that admit to having a sound similar to Television, The Kinks, and Bloc Party. Sound familiar? Not interested? Well, that’s why bios and brief descriptions are lame, because this is a band that really deserves attention. Their 2005 EP is a fourteen-minute odyssey of highly skilled pop craftsmanship. Guitars and Synths swap catchy leads over a tight and tasteful rhythm section while lead singer Alain sings about sex, drinking, and things on the TV. The rest of the band shows off equally adept throatwork by hitting bright harmonies with impressive precision. Infidels also have that rare ability to synthesize serious, compelling music with brushes of cheerful humor. They’re a busy bunch, too. Bassist Thom also writes and directs popular Internet sitcom The Burg, and you’ll never hear the band complain about NYC booking policies because they run their own performance venue with Asterisk. It doesn’t get anymore DIY than that. They’re unsigned at the moment, but that could be subject to change in the very near future. They recently won the grand prize in Music Choice’s Breakout Artist Competition, so hopefully they’ll follow the trajectory of previous winners like Panic! At the Disco and James Blunt. Catch them at Galapagos on January 27th where they’ll play for a “The Burg” event, and be on the lookout for a new record sometime this year.

Bio

An Indie art punk band over three full years in the making, Brooklyn's Infidels began on New Years Eve 2004. Infidels consist of Alain Beugoms (drummer, lead vocals), Niall Murphy (guitar, vocals), Thom Woodley (bass, vocals), and Scott Wortman (keys/effects, vocals).

In December 2005 came the independent release of the band's debut EP, Your Hidden Skeleton. Soon after its release, the Music Choice Network asked Infidels to contribute their track Satellite in my Brain to their Indie Rock Chart channel. This track became the only song by an unsigned artist on rotation on any of Music Choice's rock play-lists. In April 2006, the band's music was selected as the theme song for the much publicized internet sitcom The Burg (www.theburg.tv).

Already in 2007 Infidels have been chosen as the grand prize winner of the Music Choice Network’s Breakout Artist Competition, have signed a music licensing agreement with MTV, and have been heralded as one of the best emerging NYC bands by The Deli magazine.

As a perfect counterpart to the band's music and aspirations, Infidels run shows at Brooklyn's infamous Asterisk Art Project, where Infidels frequently perform to packed houses. The band has the good fortune of sharing the stage with national acts such as Langhorne Slim and Vic Thrill.

The band's aggressive pop sensibility along with their lively stage presence have fueled their reputation as one of the best new live performance bands in New York City. Much has been accomplished over the last couple of years, but Infidels hope that their greatest achievements remain to be seen.
