Biography

Ben Morss played piano and arranged for Cake's album Prolonging the Magic, played on the latest album by Wheatus (of "Teenage Dirtbag" fame), and helped create a beat for Mary J. Blige (which never got used, but, still!). He also ran The Pilgrims, a poppy punk band that made the charts of college radio stations nationwide, and played with acclaimed acid-jazz band 11:11 at festivals like SXSW and NXNW. And he's a classically trained composer to boot.

Lucas Steele, for his part, just finished acting in "Threepenny Opera" on Broadway alongside the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Alan Cumming, and Nellie McKay.

No other band plays music that is so immediately compelling and yet so different from everything else. Hear the combination of epic structures, killer beats, and catchy tunes that is spreading across New York City.

All that's Old is New Again

Written By: Ben Morss

Don't try to tell me that life has no meaning,
Don't tell me you don't want to fight.
I know you've come to love your own oppression.
I know that it's your only light.
How can you wait when the world ends tomorrow?
How can you spend the day in bed?
Get off the porch and climb out of the shadows
Come on back from the dead.

All that's old is new again.

Easier to tell me that life has no meaning
Than to try to understand
I see you growing your sarcasm flowers
Fed by an ironic rain.
Blink your eyes, the whole world's around you.
It's just a thing that you create.
It is not real til you choose to believe it
And you can choose love or choose hate.

It isn't magic, it won't come and find you,
It will not grab you from afar.
It's not the answer, it's just what you make it,
You have to show it who you are.
Don't waste yourself stuck inside of a pattern
Don't be another husband's wife.
You're not a tile, you are not wallpaper
This is your only chance at life.

A Better Day is Coming

Written By: Ben Morss

Found out you’re stuck in an illusion,
Found out they trapped you in a lie.
Running round and round inside a golden cage
Until they bury you alive.

Looking for direction, hey hey hey.
Make a new connection, hey hey hey.
Looking for a better thing to say.

Hold on, a better day is coming.
Hold on, a better day is coming.
It’s gonna be better than what’s come before.

Get up so early in the morning
To sell your soul to get your pay.
Don’t know who runs the show, you don’t remember why
They clipped your wings so you can’t fly

Try to make a difference, hey hey hey.
Trying for persistence, hey hey hey.
Looking for a different game to play.

Hold on, a better day is coming.
Hold on, a better day is coming.
It’s gonna be better than what’s come before.

Looking for direction, hey hey hey.
Make a new connection, hey hey hey.
Looking for a better thing to say.
