"Wrank Music CD Review '07"

In For Red: Using the word term, "local" tends to denote a sense of "immaturity" or that the songs or albums they make are "amateur." This isn't the case when it comes to this band. These guys are from LI and they've been playing the local circuit for a hot minute, and have just released this full length within the past month. It's a huge relief that something that got here this week actually has some appeal to it. A huge influence from Glassjaw, and Incubus can be sensed throughout this release, which is then spruced up with some breakdowns and electronic programming work into the mix. The breakdowns is where this album shines the brightest, but the vocal lines are well-written and there isn't a point in this album where it's easy to lose attention. Check out a bunch of their tracks over here, and be sure to pickup the album, and check them out at their upcoming shows. - Wrank Music.com

"Metal Fest Review '06"

"First up were young thrashers In For Red, whose wildly dynamic hardcore rock provided a wicked opening punch for this year's metal festival. Lead singer Sean Beatty contrasted his melodic verses with volcanic choruses, riding high on Warren Bours and Russ Savarese's screaming guitars, Mike Scalice's thumping bass and Devin McDonnell's rapid-fire drums. Songs like "This Rose Looks Better…" and "Record Time" shook the rafters at the tiny theater, setting the mood for the night's top acts." -Bill Reese - Good Times Magazine - Bill Reese

"The Crusher- CD Release Party '07"

Next up was hardcore rock band In For Red, which is Sean Beatty on vocals, Warren Bours on guitar, Russ Savarese on guitar, Mike Scalice on Bass and Devin McDonell on drums. It's obvious to hear the Incubus/Slayer influences in their music particularly in Sean Beatty's vocals. Sean is not just limited to the usual nails on a chalkboard screaming which he shows off in songs like " This Rose looks Better Dead." Thankfully, guitarist Savarese and bassist Scalice follow those rules as well. Savarese's guitar playing relies heavily on melodic riffs as opposed to how loud he can get his distortion pedal to go and Scalice also understands the meaning of less is better and plays well with drummer McDonnell. You can hear three of their songs - which the band describes as "music you can fuck to" on www.myspace.com/inforred - Aural Fix - Mike Ferrari

Bio

In For Red is composed of 5 guys from Long Island , New York, which includes Sean Beatty, Warren Bours, Russ Savarese, Mike Scalice and Devin McDonnell. Constructed in 1999, the band has had two lineup changes before coming to its completion in 2003. In For Red has been described by others as a blend of bands like, Sevendust, Incubus , Glass Jaw, Deftones , Killswitch Engage, Candiria and Hatebreed. What sets In For Red apart is their ability to soothe you with their beautiful melodies and then grab you by the throat with a heaviness that can't be compared with anyone. However, what really makes them special is their ability to combine both elements together, like they were meant to be.
