Bio

In Repose is a Portland rock band consisting of vocalist Anthony Burgess, guitarist Troy Johnson, bassist Brett Huston, and drummer Mark Monteverdi. Realizing their explosive chemistry after a few jam sessions, the band took form in December 2009. As a project, In Repose has diverse influences spanning many genres; across four decades. Due to their x-gen bring up, the band has a reciprocal appreciation towards 90’s grunge rock.
They started their venture into the Portland scene at Twilight Café April 2010 which the audience was immediately captivated with their energy, passion and performance. In Repose happily received a warm welcome into the music scene.

”Last Saturday I had the honor of going out and shooting the band In Repose. I have to say that this band is absolutely fantastic live and if you enjoy live music, you will love this band” –Jayesunn Krump, Vanished Twin Photography

After the first gig, In Repose has frequented many notable local hotspots such as: Ash St Saloon, Dante’s, Oak Grove Tavern, not to mention a party or two and joined forces with other acts: A Killing Dove, XUOSOUX, The Wayne Gacy Trio, Beautiful Lies, local legends Smooch Knob and many others. In Repose is venturing out further into the music scene as the opportunity arises. 2010 is just the first step the band has taken that’ll carry their ever increasing momentum into 2011.
October 2010, In Repose released its first recording to date, “Dimes For Eyes,” a 5 song EP that took 10 days to record. The material displayed the band’s musical prowess and is the prime example of their humble roots. The CD is available for sale through their website for $5. Currently, they are working on their full length LP titled “Forward + Self” The album is currently in the tracking stage and should be completed June this year. Forward + Self is an arrangement of the band’s flourishing musical growth and personality.
Along with live performance, the LP is the band’s way of adding their contribution on what they feel is a needed stepping stone in to the expanding local music community.
