Bio

The house music in the club is turned down; lights dim, as the crowd eagerly waits for the band to take the stage. {INTAKE}ca's D.J., Metalhead, starts to spin the intro that sounds similar to a Saturday morning cartoon, just seconds before drummer Joseph Estrada and guitarist Phil “PEZ” Lopez set the groove in motion. While bassist Jon Sanchez deepens the attitude and guitarist Michael Head is adding the harmonic over tones of the mix, J.J. "the Sampler Guy” incorporates a powerful pulsating beat into the blend, which starts the non-stop energetic set. As the song starts, vocalist Robb Sackett starts to scream into the microphone, changing nodding heads into, majority of the club, jumping in sync with the rhythm while others generate insanity in the mosh pit.

This Inland Empire based band, known for their heavy riffs, fast paced tempos comparable to that of a techno song, and harmonious melodies, was formed with the current line up in the summer of 2002. After numerous amounts of shows and several member modifications, Joseph, Vince, John and J.J. decide that they needed a skilled and enthusiastic guitarist. With a toss up between two long-time friends Michael and PEZ, they decide to try a duel guitarist approach and recruited them booth. Within the same week, Robb was asked to try out as a vocalist, after about 10 minutes of jamming, they knew the band was complete. Soon, these seven individuals got together with a similar mind-set and an equal level of determination to make music that would form what is known as "{INTAKE}ca".

With such songs like "Wake Up Call" dealing with the ignorance and laziness of today’s youth and "City of Assholes", a song about Los Angeles and the drama that surrounds it, illustrates that {INTAKE}ca deals with an assortment of subjects that many people tackle on a day-to-day basis in both a serious and humorous manner. The band started out playing in a local warehouse, and people would stop by and just hang out. From friends to complete strangers, from other local bands to the local Police Unit within the area, everyone would come in and listen. With an extremely dominating stage presence and unique sound, {INTAKE}ca has proven that they definitely stand out as the Inland Empire's most intense and promising band.
