BandAlternativeRock

INTEGER is a progressive alternative band from Toronto. Our musical expression is rooted in various genres of rock, metal, jazz and classical music, which is further defined by academic and progressive interests in psychology, sociology & philosophy in conjunction with chemistry, biology & physics.

Biography

Our music provides a landscape of experimental and rudimentary structure and sound intertwined into the ideals expressed in our lyrical content. Conceptually, the project explores and investigates the chaotic realm of everyday life nestled in the themes of politics, technology and understanding of human function and dysfunction.

Musical influences include: A Silver Mt. Zion, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Perfect circle, Radiohead, Opeth, Tool, The Dresden Dolls and Incubus.

The current line up of musicians was established October 2007. However, Integer, in its previous incarnations has performed in Toronto several times and was well received.

Ron and Roland Santiago, twins and natives of Scarborough, and are graduated chemists working in Toronto. Peter Chalas, a physics graduate and also grew up in the greater Toronto area.

Lyrics

The Awakening

Written By: Integer

a truce I seek
with my thoughts
strapped in a self embrace
the chance that things will change
the storm clouds in disbelief
because its all my fault
I won't let go, its so far away

so far away - so far away
its all in my head

my stingy hands grow older
time to make a move
dear god these years fly by
these old feet will run from my disease

A lamb - a solemn promise
tranquility
flirting with a smile
the flood will dry over within a breath
I'm laughing at insecurity
because I want to scream
"I KNOW"

its close by - its close by
its all right here
its all in my head

my stingy hands grow older
time to make a move
dear god how the years just fly by
how these old feet will run from my disease

"don't worry, its all fine
I'm right here, I'll make it right
don't worry, its all fine
take my hand, I'll be your guide"

While I Was Sleeping

Written By: Integer

its time to go away now
careful decisions
last efforts have been made now
and last is last its in the past
there's no double back
no turning back

whispered it to me - I thought it destroyed me
whispered it to me - I thought it destroyed me

This game to me is boring now
I thought it was settled
what's with these lucid dreams now?
Unlikely arrival of reminders
Its strikes a nerve
Its strikes a nerve

a nerve

I suppose I should thank you
I suppose I should thank you for this
I remember your cold unforgiving face
It was worth the price I paid
Worth the price I paid
to share the blame
to finally lay waste to the history,
the shame, the accusatory games

and I spent so, so long purging
to have to feel this imagery surging
surfing over all my triggers
stimulating the nerves that
so easily recall why we even
had to do this at all

Haunted, dreaming about you
Haunted, dreaming about you and this
Our long gone destructive days
It was worth the walk away
It was worth the walk away
to share the blame
to finally save face and lay distance
inducing the change
