Bio
For Shawna it began with poetry, creating a song from the words, feeling the melody from the experience to which those words retell. With a background in music and a passion for art she left home at 16 and moved from California to study theater at New York University. After her education at NYU she proceeded to focus all her energy on music, to sing the songs she had written throughout her life.
She got a call from Brian Frederick, an old high school friend who also sought to pursue a career in music. Shortly after they worked together, he invited her back to California to sing and write lyrics for a developing band. She moved back to California as soon as she could.
Together the band collaborates to support the vision we have for each song. Interloper offers an eclectic group of people who create a sound that is raw like the blues, pertinent and announcing like rock, and innovative.
Song content is comprised of memories and tales told. Sharing the human experience, this base concept gave inspiration for the band name Interloper, the idea of a song allowing a listener to trespass into the experiences of strangers.
