Antics is the hotly-anticipated sophomore album from brooding New York City quartet, Interpol. * The album was recorded this Spring by Peter Katisat Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT. * Lavish packaging includes a deluxe full-colour cardboard slipcase, which will be prominently stickered for maximum shelf impact. * At press time, the album is theNUMBER ONEalbum on the CMJ Top 200andCore Airplay charts. * The first commercial single, ‘Slow Hands’was issued on September 21st, featuring remixes courtesy of Dan The Automator(Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School) and Britt Daniel (Spoon). The second single is tentatively scheduled for January. * The accompanying video for ‘Slow Hands’, directed by Daniel Levi (Massive Attack, LFO) has been serviced to all key video outlets including MuchMusic, MusiquePlus, and MTV. * MTV in America has added the video to A-List rotation. The video was premiered on MTV’s “The Leak” on September 13th. The clip has already been showcased on MuchMusic and MusiquePlus. * Interpol is set to perform live on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno(October 1st), Late Night With Conan O’Brien(October 8th), and Jimmy Kimmel Live (October 26th). * After a successful tour as the key support for the Cure on this summer’s Curiosa Festival, the band will begin a headline tour of North America in October. Confirmed Canadian dates include Montreal (Metropolis October 12), Toronto(The Docks - October 13), and Vancouver(Commodore Ballroom - October 23). The entire forthcoming tour is expected to sell out in short order. * ‘Slow Hands’ is receiving generous support via Modern Rock Radio across North America, including adds at influential stations such as KROQin Los Angeles and The Endin Seattle. Concentrated play at key border stations in Detroit, Burlington (Vermont), Seattle, and Buffalo is generating additional excitement in major cities across Canada. * Domestic and International press for the album is sure to be huge. Confirmed features include People, USA Today, Maxim, NME, Uncut, Mojo, RollingStone, SPIN, AlternativePress, Magnet, CMJ, Entertainment Weekly, GQ, Details, Newsweek, Interview, Playboy, YM, Jane, Paper, Rockpile, Blender, and many more. * The band completed a full day of promo in Toronto this past August, including features set to run in Access, Exclaim, TorontoStar, Chart Magazine, NowMagazine(Toronto), EyeMagazine(Toronto), and Stylus (Winnipeg). Interpol provided television interviews for MuchMusic, MusiquePlus, MTVCanada, Toronto 1, and UmbrellaTV. * 10 short films commissioned by Interpol via a web contest this summer are currently being projected in galleries in New York City, Los Angeles, London, with Paris, and Berlin to follow in October.
