Bio

Interstate Mook is an up and coming Enginneer/Artist Coming from Rosedale NY by way of Jamaica Queens, NY, Bay Shore NY, and Valley Stream, NY.He is Of African American and German Decent. His main influence is his older cousin DJ Bless a.k.a Sutter Kain. Interstate wrote his first track in 1997 called SU-WU to Capone N Noreaga's T.O.N.Y. from there he became infatuated in music Starting As A DJ in the Mid 90's under the name DJ Navigator, He was doing parties and putting mixtapes together for the local students and kids while living out in Bay Shore, NY. After 2years of everyday practicing Interstate became uninterested in DJ'ing and became actively involved in Illegal street racing. During this time he was still writing but mostly poetry and nothing to be recorded. After a car accident that was unrelated to street racing Interstate started slowly withdrawing from the Street racing scene and started involving himself in music once again. Starting with a laptop and a webcam as a mic, Interstate started recording music again. After putting together his first mixtape which was unreleased due to the sound quality a single was released from the mixtape called Gun Run, Interstate started to upgrade his equipment and relocated from his grandmother's house to a office in in a shopping center in the area. He started to recruit his childhood friends to come record in his studio.

After engineering over 50 songs Interstate decided to start a independent record label which was named Interstate Records. Interstate started to focus more on engineering thus releasing Transporter Mixtape Vol 1 in 2007 which was a compilation of music from the different artist on Interstate Records. After a successful start up year Interstate Mook started to focus more on getting his writing skills honed in and taking a small hiatus to further build his studio. 3 monthes later Interstate Mook was back engineering thus releasing Transporter 2 Mixtape in 2008 which was also a compilation but with more features from Interstate Mook. He also released his first music video with label mates Dolo Dollaz and E-Grezzy F.K.A E-Dolla called Gettin Money which had recieved very good reviews and helped establish Interstate and his recording label. 2009 was a breakout year for Interstate. Dropping nearly 5 tracks a weeks but not releasing them to the public. Interstate's writing skills and flow became noticeably better. After a small stint engineering with Tone Kapone(C.O.S, Def Squad) and working with artist from Dumout/Infamous Mobb such as Menace Tha Don and Mercedes Mike, Interstate started working on his second solo mixtape but first to be released to the public by the end of 2009 Interstate was ready to release his mixtape titled 9 to 5 On I95. Interstate originally planned to have DJ Lazy K host the mixtape but due to fraudulent issues unrelated to Lazy K Productions the mixtape was self hosted and released on February 3rd instead of the original release date which was Jan 8th. The mixtape has received very impressive reviews with 22 tracks showcasing Interstate Mook's lyrical talent and his progress in engineering. Interstate is currently working on his 2nd mixtape release titled Still Coppin Quarters and will also be releasing the label compilation Transporter 3 sometime this year.
