interstelar

the interstelar live set is an exercise in anticipation. slowly, the atmosphere builds, punctuated with sharp jabs of power chords, punk-rock drums, and fuzzed out, bluesy bass lines. then the vocals cut through, with a gravel melodic quality that brings it all together.

the music does not fit into any pre-ordained genre-specific boxes, which is a constant source of frustration for the band. it's too ballsy for the indie scene, and too optimistic for the metal crowd. the closest approximation is stoner rock, which is still not quite on the mark, since the band is too serious about the music to get fucked up all the time.

the interstelar manifesto is to provide an intense listening experience to anyone who chooses to travel beyond the reaches of earthbound transnational corporate radio frequencies. truth is out there, as well as in here.
