Into the Grove and Through the Vines

Out of the snowy forests of Russia and tropical beaches of Taiwan comes Into the Grove and Through the Vines, a psychedelic pop duo that deserves your undivided attention. The band artfully combines ear-pleasing, psychedelia-tinged, head-bobbing pop songs with solid rock sensibilities, showing off a range of emotions from curiously dark to heart-felt and inspirational. Think Flaming Lips banging the XX with M83 watching. The band has been formed in 2012, quickly gaining interest of the local Austin scene and swiftly moving to playing weekend shows with local heavy hitters like Mighty Mountain and 3D Friends. The band’s songs are being played on online-based radio stations and the band’s SoundCloud page gets between 100 and 500 unique plays daily. The band’s brain is Alex, currently in the midst of a songwriting marathon (1 song a day for a year), playing guitar, synth, and running Ableton, the band’s heart is Shirley, the drummer with a lot to prove and a voice that will please angles. The band is planning to release their first album “It’s Getting Better” in 2014.
