"Pei Cd Releases"

Local rockers Intoxicado release their debut album Wednesday’s Child at Hunter’s Ale House in November. The full length album features a blend of rock and roll, blues and country, driven by guitar, bass, drums, piano and surrounded by vocal harmonies. The lyrics tell stories of pain, loss, strength and perseverance.
The album features guest appearances by Dan Currie (Eyes For Telescopes, Double Ought Buckshot, Dan Currie and What Happened Tomorrow) and Neil Menzie(The Mystery System). It was recorded, mixed and mastered entirely at Lukas Raine Recordings in Milton, PEI. Wednesday’s Child has been in production under the supervision of engineer Dave Skinner since October 2007. The first single “Rock and Roll Ain’t Pretty,” released in April 2008, has been featured regularly on Sonic Source, a radio program that features the best in East Coast Talent. The album layout was designed by Tim Gormley and features photography by Tony Dawe.
Since their debut in April of 2007, the 5 members of Intoxicado, Tim Gormley (vocals and piano), Brett Oliver (lead guitar), Matt Harper (drums), Chris Comeau (bass and backup vocals) and Carey Bennett (rhythm guitar and backup vocals), have played venues across PEI, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. They have had the opportunity to share the stage with big international acts such as 5440, The Marble Index, White Cowbell Oklahoma, Cheap Trick, and Aerosmith. With the release of their debut album they are ready to share their music with the world. Some Maritime dates are in the works for the fall and winter including a stop in Newfoundland in February at the 2009 East Coast Music Awards where they look to showcase their talents to the music industry. www.myspace.com/intoxicadomusic - The Buzz

Bio

Rock and roll ain't pretty and Charlottetown's Intoxicado won't argue with that. Why should it be? With a sound that nestles, strangely enough, between sleazy Sunset Strip rock and rootsy alt-country, this five piece is cooking a multi-layered rock and roll stew. Within their four-year run, Intoxicado has released a full-length album, Wednesday' Child which was nominated for Rock Recording of the Year at the 2009 PEI Music Awards, and has shared the stage with some of rock's royalty - like Aerosmith and Cheap Trick. Having culminated a dedicated following in Charlottetown, Intoxicado are ready to spread that message with the release of a new album this year.
