The greatest comedian who ever lived, Bill Hicks, once said, “I remember when music had a conscience, when music had soul and when music had balls!” If there is one thing to be said among the many things that should be said about the band “InTransit Audio,” it’s that they love making music and they’re VERY good at it. They certainly have no problem with describing their own identity “a schizophrenic mess of beautifully compelling and thought provoking instrumentals,” stole the thoughts right out of my head and shot me into a world of electronic/rock n rollin’/hip hoppin’ psychedelic ass shakin’. If “The Gorillaz” and “Minus the Bear” had a threesome with “Pendulum”…well you get the idea. Listening to their music reminded me why I love music in the first place. It can be whatever you want it to be for whatever reason. Tear down the laws of genre and style! Give us all of it and tell us a story at the same time. Twist our senses and heads inside out! InTransit Audio is a band whose sound defies all traditional boundaries of musical genres today. In other words, IA is a schizophrenic mess of beautifully compelling and thought provoking instrumentals. These sounds touch on elements of dark jazz, electronica rock, thrashy dub, and deeply aggressive hip-hop.
Born in March of 2008, IA spawned a group of creative individuals from all over the map, all having come from different musical backgrounds. Combining these different styles immediately led to a unique collage of what can be best described as unpredictably, indefinable, and damn catchy music. This music is a direct response to their musical predecessors, by capturing fragments of adored and influential sounds to create their own captivating musical journeys.
