"Invisible LInes"

Hailing from Kearny, NJ, Invisible Lines is a post hardcore/punk force to be reckoned with... - Tiny Giant Records

"" I found myself listening for what would happen next which says a lot for music today""

"Invisible Lines is a band from Kearny, New Jersey that plays original songs. Invisible Lines’ sound remind me of a modern day grown-up Rage Against the Machine. Their lyrics fill each song and are extremely poetic making you stop and really listen to what they have to say. The music is energized but not ear splitting and perfectly matches the intense lyrics. I found myself listening for what would happen next which says a lot for music today and the number of bands I have to go through in order to find a good one to review. Invisible Lines also put on a great live show so I highly recommend that you pick up their latest EP “Wise Up” and check them out live this weekend!" - www.jerseyrockreview.com

"Good local Bands? Yes it's true"

The band that really grabbed my attention and heart was the Invisible Lines. Invisible Lines started off their set with a bit of a SNAFU, but soon recovered with an opener that was reminiscent of Vaya era at the drive-in. Austin by way of North Arlington, but not even in a remotely bad way. These guys were my favorite band of the night and I was not surprised to hear that they are coming out with an EP on a new label called Killing Horse Records in April. So even though Belleville is not in our area of expertise if you’re interested in seeing Invisible Lines they will be playing at the Gin Mill (119 Brighton Street, January 30th) …It could be worth your while to check them out. - Glocallynewark.com

"Killkenny Alehouse w/ No Pasaran and Invisible Lines"

Invisible Lines made their mark next. They are Alan (Guitar, Bass)
Greg (Guitar, Bass, Drum Machine) Michael (Drums)William (Guitar, Bass, Vocals). A sort of Conspiracy Surf Rock group. IL brought some sick energy! Songs like Do Not Be Phased that started with a prelude on the drums and guitars are the harbingers of a serious driving song. That’s if you drive in the Demolition Derby! It's a great thing coming out for a show and seeing a band you've never even heard of before that just rocks your mind away. After the show I caught up with Will. It seems IL will be recording a new album soon I personally can’t wait to get my grimy paws on it." - Zac Clark

""I said it before and I’ll say it again: Invisible Lines is driving music.""

"I said it before and I’ll say it again: Invisible Lines is driving music. Long stretch getting it done 80's movie montage driving music. To what end probably to kill vampires or fight the high school bully… it doesn’t really matter. This band makes the journey the most important part of the movie. Being a Buddhist, this concept totally appeals to me. And makes me feel like the Road Warrior (who is securely not a Buddhist, if you’ve seen the films, to which I’m pretty sure the Passion of Christ is a prequel). But I digress, their e.p. Wise Up! has been recieving some serious buzz, I emplore you to get your hands on it." - Zac Clark - Zac Clark - www.rockertycoon.com

"Invisible Lines - "Wise Up" 5-song EP"

I'm gonna peg Invisible Lines as an emo-core (emotionally charged hardcore) band.- And that’s a good thing! This band that originates out of Kearny, NJ creates music that is a relentless rush of rhythm and melody that is simultaneously pulverizing and delicate. "Wise Up" is a staggeringly good record with excellent sound quality, crisp playing, and evocative songs. The album was recorded at Killing Horse Records (killinghorserecords.com).

This is not a linear album. There are songs like the opening cut “Medulla,” that has a Rage Against the Machine drive to it, but the originality is evident. From there the band avoids sloganeering and self-righteousness in favor of meat and potatoes rock and roll. “Painmaker” and “Release” offer the listener songs seething with conviction, and rock energy. “Clean up the Mess” has anthemic power, but with a more mainstream sound, and a few rough edges- which is always good!

Invisible Lines' sincerity and commitment are obvious. With Will Acevedo on vocals and guitar, Alan Gomez on guitar, drummer Lucas Gonzalez, and bassist Mike Clifford, they make music that is anything but ordinary. No artsy whimpering, or shoe-gazing, Wise Up is a blast of an album where the lyrics are formative, reflective, and personal, without any introversive nonsense. In other words this album rocks from start to finish!

"Local Hudson County Band Breaking Through!"

Invisible Lines is a refreshingly original five-piece alternative rock band based out of Hudson County that is steadily gaining some hard-earned respect. Following their sold out record release show for the “Wise Up E.P.” at Hoboken’s historic Maxwell’s, the band, comprised of William Acevedo, Mike Clifford, Alan Gomez, Lucas Gonzalez and Josh Thompson made a commitment to extend their reach to a broader fan base. One way of doing so was to enter a contest organized by Fuzztopia.com, a new music media website owned by noted musician and entertainer, Steven Van Zandt. The contest required the submission of one song to be featured on ESPN’s nightly television show, Nascar Now. After entering their song “Clean up the Mess”, the band was informed by Fuzztopia that, out of hundreds of submissions, theirs would be one of four songs in the running to be featured on the show. A month-long voting process began and through endless promotion and a dedicated local fan base, Invisible Lines came out on top. As a result, their name and music will reach millions of people nationwide and undoubtedly help them receive the recognition they deserve. An east coast tour is currently being self-booked for the fall and a full-length album is scheduled to follow in the near future. Check them out by visiting www.invisiblelinesmusic.com and see what the buzz is about! - Hudson Paper

Bio

Formed in 2007, Invisible Lines has worked diligently to build a dedicated fan base and receive praise-filled music reviews from respected resources, setting the foundation for their steady upward movement and enduring musical energy.

Drawing from influences including At The Drive-In, Fugazi, and Led Zeppelin, Invisible Lines is a melodic rock band that re-creates the dynamic and danceable rhythms of post punk. Invisible Lines is composed of William Acevedo (Guitar/ Vocals), Mike Clifford (Bass/Vocals), Alan Gomez (Lead Guitar), Josh Thompson (Rhythm Guitar) and Lucas Gonzalez (Drums). Their sound is as eclectic as their demographics; William, Mike, and Josh grew up in New Jersey, while Lucas and Alan relocated to the US from South America.

In 2010, Invisible Lines released their five-song EP, “Wise Up!”. The diverse and creative pulse of the “Wise Up!” EP includes the original sounds and lyrics of “Painmaker”, “Medulla”, “Clean Up the Mess”, “2 Stops 1” and “Release”. Respected music resource, Jersey Beat, described the release as, “music that is a relentless rush of rhythm and melody that is simultaneously pulverizing and delicate.” Later in 2010, Jersey Beat chose “Wise Up!” for their music blog’s “The Best of 2010,” adding it to the list of “Best Singles and EPs.” The EP also made Rutgers radio’s Top 200 of 2010, coming in at #21.

As Invisible Lines travels up and down NJ and makes appearances in NYC venues such as The Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall, the band continues to emanate an energy that was accurately explained by NJ Underground after seeing their sold out show at the legendary Hoboken music venue, Maxwell’s: “Invisible Lines kept the crowd bouncing and singing along with their sometimes sweet and always savory pop-punk songs.” A typical set is comprised of a mix of old and new songs, some of which include: “Apollo in Her Eyes”, “Guanania”, “The Breach”, “Thought to Catch”, “Lock your Lips”, “Weak in the Knees” and their five EP tunes from “Wise Up!”

When the band is off stage, they’re working relentlessly in the studio writing new music, revisiting old songs and hashing out the details of upcoming shows and other band-related business. The studio is Invisible Lines’ Mecca for musical and lyrical inspiration as well as deep conversations about life, politics and the world. One conversation in particular led to the band’s name, “Invisible Lines” after a long discussion between Mike and William on various aspects of American culture, immigration and geopolitical boundaries. At the end of the conversation the sentiment was “isn’t it unbelievable that all these invisible lines shape our lives?” After a brief pause for reflection on the phrase “invisible lines”, Mike suggested that it might be a good name for the band. William responded quickly, “DONE, that’s it, that’s the band.”

In addition to launching a brand new band website in 2011, the group is set to debut two music videos and of course, new songs. Invisible Lines aims to influence the music world with their fresh spin on melodic rock and their focus on meaningful and poetic lyrics; a future that looks promising for this rising NJ rock band.
