The young composers-lyricists Areti and Ioanna Spanomarkou, have released their album which includes twelve new songs, plus a remix, and among these songs, there is also the song 'Fititi-Fititi'(Student), the major success in the students' comunity. Famous and favourite singers participate, like Christos Papadopoulos(Ta paidia apo tin patra), Gina Dalaka (that we admire her from the rembetiko tv series directed by Kostas Ferris), Areti Ketime, Babis Velissarios (from the national opera), but also many other exceptionally talented singers. The young composers Areti and Ioanna Spanomarkou and the globally reknown film director Nikos Koundouros, went to ancient theater of Herodes Atticus in Athens to attended the tribute concert for the forty years since the death of the composer Markos Vamvakaris, which was organised by the famous lyricist Lina Nikolakopoulou. During the concert, videos from Syros island were presented. Director was Nikos Skarentzos and director of photography was Ramon Malapetsa, and the mood was very nostalgic. Ioanna & Areti Spanomarkou (24 and 27 years old) live in Athens center, Greece.
Ioanna and Areti started to compose music since their early age, with their own music and lyrics.
On April 10 2012: they released their CD-SINGLE titled "ENA" (ONE) by FM RECORDS.
On December 28 2012: they released their album titled "DYO" (TWO) by the same label, FM RECORDS.
The songs are performed by new on set and many renown, significantly talented singers, while the music compositions are played by skillful musicians.
They love the challenge of dealing with classical and modern trends of music, and they experiment mixing the patterns.
However, Ioanna and Areti especially love Greek music and have created many folk and rebetiko compositions with bouzouki, as they believe they ought to keep alive the passionate flame of the Greek soul which is expressed through these special kinds of original Greek music. The two sisters have already received excellent reviews, and there are many references in the Greek press.
Their music is inspiring people all around the world.
Ioanna & Areti hold degrees in Economics (Accounting, and International Trade), and they continuously do statistical research in medical field and present papers of their work in Medical and Economics conferences.
