"Review by: Shinobi"

Ioma is focused on showing an unadultered view of rock and punk not on the scene.A synergy daring the norm and widening the distance between real bands and wanna be bands. Their style and attitude is felt throughout each and every song. These guys are serious.

"STREET BLAST INTERVIEW"

"IOMA" Added To StreetBlast Internet Radio
By Jake A. Wheat
September 11th, 2007 - 01:21 Est.
A new breed of hard rock is here, formulating a sound that is almost non existent in a scene that has been swamped with imitation and repetitive products.

Formed in the summer of 2001, IOMA'S original three members: Casey Bakker, Kevin Daly and Luke may searched for the voice that would illuminate this new breed of progressive rock.

. With all four members coming from different musical backgrounds influences range from the hard driving sounds of "Tool" and "Faith no More" to the crazy and political antics of of "Rage against the machine" and "system of a down".

iOMA has opened for bands such as Pepper, Metal Skool, Gutter Mouth and Throw Rag. As well as self produced and promoted mini tours through out the west coast. iOMA has also played S.W.A.T school tours in Mexico, performing weekly at many of the hottest LA clubs such as The Whiskey, Roxy, The Gig and the Viper Room. Ioma's future is clear , and spreading to a city near you.

Note: We are still not sure how to properly spell Ioma, iOMA, ioma. We think the band rocks out hardcore though, so who gives a fuck how they spell it!? - Street Blast Radio

You guys work well together. Very well. You can tell your vocalist can sing and isnt faking it. Right on key.
the guitars are really good as well,
this is a good song (ABUSED) and the timing is perfect. You guys are serious about production and it shows. Very good job. - Garageband.com

This song (BROKEN) Has the modern hardrock sound of Stabbing Westward and Tool, yet maintains an old School quality that alot of new music seems to have lost. Awesome song and performance...I would love to hear more of your stuff...Good luck in the future from a new fan in NC.

"Review by: Sheena Metal"

"GET READY TO HEAR SOME NOISE"
shouted jason, lead singer of alternative heavy metal band IOMA.
He wasn't kidding. For the next forty-five minutes, there was plenty of it, with a heaping wallop of energy, theatrics and stage effects thrown in for good measure. From smoke bieng sprayed into the crowd to the singers adrenaline charged roar, IOMA knew how to energize even the most comatose.

Raw, forceful and reverberating, IOMA refused to slow the pace during thier nine song set. Thier melodies never veered into calm territory, as distorted guitar riffs, droning bass chords, agressive drumming and the abrasive, spoken word lyrics climaxed into a cresendo of wall to wall mayhem.

Pushing ones hearing threshhold, IOMA combined both nihilism and angst in such songs as "Whispers in the sky" a tortured confessional about feeling lost in life. In between songs, the head-banging persona of the band gave way to a well deserved and friendly repoire with the audience. They asked everyone to drink a toast to the evening, Singled out individuals for farewell messages, encouraged the audience to sing along and made sure thier sound was to the audiences liking. With such openess,
one can see why the venue quickly
became packed with fans mouthing words and body heaving to the punk/surf inspired guitar riffs and beats. IOMA never veered from giving the audience what it wanted and in return recieved a raucous reception throughout thier perfromance.

IOMA acheives what many bands can only hope for: a devoted following and electrifying on-stage presence. If a sign of sheer determintion to give a no holds barred performance can be measured, in part, by a broken drumstick flung into the audience and the drummers perseverance to continue playing in the face of a damaged snare drum, then IOMA deserves the mantle of heavy metal rock they can be proud of. - All Access Magazine
