Proctor, Comedy Central veteran and Boston Comedy Festival finalist, was a performer with such a powerful and energetic presence that he hardly needed a microphone.
Proctor possessed an uncanny similarity to another celebrity. From time to time he sounded almost exactly like Peter Griffin from "Family Guy."
Proctor's Boston-centric perspective on Keene was particularly amusing.
By the end of the show, an hour and a half after it had begun, the audience was ready for more but perhaps thankful for a break. There's only so much laughing a person can take!

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Deployments here can become dull and monotonous from the daily grind and sometimes having something to laugh about becomes equally as important as food and sleep to maintain morale for servicemembers.
Laughter is exactly what comedian Ira Proctor brought to these troops here Feb. 28 as part of the Dog Tag Comedy Tour.
“The goal is to make people laugh; I don’t know what other goal there is when you’re doing comedy,” Proctor said.
The crowd showed their appreciation with laughter and applause during the show that lasted more than an hour as Proctor made jokes of situations the troops face here.
“I thought the show was great. It was really funny,” said North Carolina native Spc. Tessa Bevins, 96th Aviation Support Battalion, 101st Aviation Brigade. “I think shows like this definitely help morale. It definitely helped break up my day; otherwise I would be in my room on my computer.”
Proctor also showed appreciation and support for the troops.
“The crowds over here have been awesome,” Proctor said. “It is always a pleasure to perform for the troops.”
Proctor has enjoyed his Afghanistan experience.
He was impressed with the military equipment he was able to see.
“We went on a convoy that was awesome, being in a Humvee, it was cool to see how the thing works,” he said. “We saw a lot of cool stuff. A C-5 refuel in the air, that was pretty spectacular.”
Proctor left a final word for servicemembers.
“Kill Osama Bin Laden and let's get this over with!”
Proctor stayed to sign autographs and chat with the troops after the performance.

Ira Proctor is a Boston based comedian that has traveled everyplace from Las Vegas to Afghanistan performing comedy. A favorite college act that's often asked back to schools year after year, Ira's career has been on fire recently. He just showcased to rave revues at the prestigious Just For Laughs festival, taped his second season of NESN's Comedy All-Stars, and was a winner in Sierra Mist's "Next Great Comic Search." He's become a fixture in the Boston Comedy Festival, and has appeared on Comedy Central's "Laugh Riots." Iras other credits include appearances on ABCs Inside Edition, Fox News, New England Cable News, NESN, and XM radio along with commercials for Diet Pepsi, Moonshot Beer, Harvey Windows and Bobs Stores.
