Biography

Irena Zilic is a Croatian musician steadily growing in popularity and garnering international recognition. She entered the music scene by shyly self-publishing her first recordings as the "Days of Innocence" EP at the end of 2012. Her musical genesis served solely as a way of breaking out of her mould, as a means to encourage herself to perform and become more inclusive with her music. At the close of 2014 she released "Travelling", her debut long playing record. The album was very well received and named 4th most important Croatian album of the last 20 years by the local edition of Rolling Stone magazine.
While promoting “Travelling”, Irena performed at various international music festivals (Waves Vienna, SeaRock, Americana night, etc.) and venues in Central and Eastern Europe. Her music quickly gained attention of media outlets that frequently called on the artist for performances and interviews. Some of her notable domestic performances include a concert at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and sold out shows at Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall and Culture Factory, all significant venues and performing staples of the Croatian music scene. At the end of 2016 she was the opening act for Skye and Ross from Morcheeba in Zagreb and recently for Wovenhand in Ljubljana.
