The size of the crowd in Solana Beach
Monday made it seem like the weekend.
People arrived early, staked out a good
spot and waited for the party to start as
Irieside, a young North County band,
opened for Maxi Priest at the Belly Up.
Irieside, a group that formed in the
halls of El Camino High School in
Oceanside, is a charismatic bunch that
stresses individuality and creating their
own brand of music.
The band’s style, a blend of hip-hop,
reggae, rock and funk, delivered something
for everyone. The group opened
with some lazy reggae rhythms and soon
kicked out sophisticated guitar solos that
oozed rock ’n’ roll. The crowd inched
closer to the stage with each song and
danced and swayed to each jam the band
served up.

With members returning home from Hollywood and San Francisco, the Oceanside-based band IRIESIDE will be playing two North County shows on Veterans Day Weekend.
On the bill with High Tide and Stone Senses, IRIESIDE plans to bring its unique reggae/hip-hop/funk sound to the LOngshot Saloon Friday night. The show is to begin at 9pm, with IRIESIDE performing at 11pm.
Winding down on Sunday night , the Oceanside locals will revisit their old stomping ground Yard Record at111 S. Coast Highway. Set to take the stage @ 5 pm. members of IRIESIDE will be performing old and new tunes with influences from Michael Franti to Ben Harper.

Forged through various ties, created in Southern California, Irieside is an up and coming band that ventures through all musical genres to create their own sound. The band uses a mixture of Rock, Hip-Hop, Punk, Reggae and even some Funk.
In the short time that Irieside has been together they have created and even altered their own sound. They have a distinct sound that is similar to, but like no others. Consisting of guitar, bass guitar, drums, trumpet, trombone and fronted with emcee vocals, Irieside uses basic elements of music- making to create their own musical stamp on the world. Using a blend of each individuals eclectic style their music cannot be placed under one genre of music. Right away fans expect one thing and receive something else. The way they (Irieside) provide mood enhancing music with awesome stage presence, they are sure to rock any crowd any time no matter age race sex or creed. Irieside is still continuing a steady run of the party and bar scene blazing a path all the way to The Big Stage!
