An energetic four-piece band from Sydney's Northern Beaches, Irksome Bliss enjoys a growing reputation for delivering live performances that "sound better than the recordings". Reflecting their many musical influences, the band has produced a wide range of original music. From pensive ballads through funk to driving rock, each features their distinctive sound...and melodies that just won't leave your head.
The band worked with ARIA-award winning producer Wayne Connolly to produce a number of songs at the end of 2007. The guys look forward to being back in the studio with Wayne to record new material in September of 2008. But it's their love of live performances that keeps the band motivated and they look forward to touring extensively this year.
Irksome Bliss has received rave reviews for gigs at the Come Together Festival, The Gaelic Club and The Factory Theatre not to mention pubs like The Hopetoun, The Lansdowne, The Orange Grove and Manly Fishos to name a few. Their songs have featured on sound tracks for SBS productions as well as commercial surfing DVDs.
Formed in 2005, Irksome Bliss has come a long way since meeting in their high school music class. Wins in contests like Northern Composure and the National Youth Songwriting Awards added to their profile and boosted their career through studio time and other professional support.
