Greetings, travellers! Imagine Black Sabbath playing The Lord of the Rings soundtrack. This describes the mighty folk-metal band IronStein! They forged their epic music along the grassy banks of Hamilton, using heavy guitars full of traditional Celtic folk, soaring keyboard, pounding drums, jaunty bass-lines, and manly but catchy choruses. When hit by this onslaught, you will start dancing! They are a non-stop metal-folk-groove fest with unlimited energy.

Lyrics

Hammer Heart

Written By: IronStein

I am a man without strength
And set apart to be with the dead
I've been in the lowest pit
I've been in the darkest depths

Hammer heart
When the road is long and the night is dark
Head held high
I'll see it through before I die

Thy creature stands before you
Distressed and close to death
So free our weary eyes from tears
Or hold them fast in death
But if I must be afflicted
To suit some wise design
Then man my soul with firm resolve
To bear and not repine

On the dark side of twilight
When wings do fold and eyelids fight
When the air begins to chill
When soft light melts the distant hills

Hammer heart
When enemies stay and friends depart
Head held high
And my love for them will never die

Thy creature stands before you
Distressed and close to death
So free our weary eyes from tears
Or hold them fast in death
But if I must be afflicted
To suit some wise design
Then man my soul with firm resolve
To bear and not repine

I turn to see a fading shore
(We bid farewell, we bid thee farewell)
We depart Greenland and all we adore
(We bid farewell, we bid thee farewell)
Following rumour's path, we have set forth
Strange lands await brave men of the north

Into the horizon, our bearing: south-west
(Let wind blow, Let the wind blow)
With thirty-five sailors at my behest
(Let wind blow, Let the wind blow)
Into the unknown and ever far,
Guided by the light of the Northern Star

Chorus:

Over the raging ocean
Under a thundering sky
Our eyes on the horizon
To discover, or to die?

I turn to see an approaching shore
(Chase the new world, chase the new world)
My name shall live on like my father's before
(Chase the new world, chase the new world)
For centuries to come they shall tell tales
Of history we made in Vinland's green vales

The Blood is the Life

Written By: Ironstein

How will I live for eternity?
Asks the vampiric vanity of humanity
Promulgating life but dead in their sin
Liturgical slaves to gratification
The blood was shed so we'd live on
The transfused covenant of salvation
Stake in the heart or spear in the side
Immortal death or eternal life

The blood is the life

Cower from Christ
Because the blood is the life
The blood is the way to salvation
Bow down to Christ
You taker of life
The blood is the way to salvation

The master's words are an addiction
He quenches the sick with indoctrination
The sycophantic Renfield found his God
Whose salvation was to drink mortal blood
But blood was shed so we'd live on
To ashes and dust the arrogance has gone
Vampires hide from the image of the son
The order of the dragon is made undone

The blood is the life

Cower from Christ
Because the blood is the life
The blood is the way to salvation
Bow down to Christ
You taker of life
The blood is the way to salvation
