"Feedback about Ironstone…."

Ironstone appeared on my show on ABC Coast FM networked to the Gold and Sunshine Coast. They played live, sounded wonderful and were entertaining and amusing on air. Not only are they consummate musicians they also have a delightful rapport with each other and their audience. I'm sure they would be a positive addition to any festival line up.

"Though a group with only two members, Ironstone creates a full and well
balanced sound. Their set is varied, well thought out and was rightfully
well received by the audience".

Paul Anderson (AHRC Research Fellow in the Creative and Performing Arts – University of Aberdeen- fiddle) after the Glen Innes Celtic festival inNSW Australia 2007.

Well written and played, Ironstone's performance captured the audience's attention at our club where diners and drinkers can be indifferent.

Vocal and guitar was clear and emotive but unpretentious, violin perfect intonation and eloquent harmonies. Highly recommended for concert or dining venues.

"Ironstone, a Celtic music duo hailing from Queensland, gave an engaging performance at the recent Australian Celtic Festival at Glen Innes. Audiences were taken on a Celtic journey with rollicking tunes and moving songs and airs played on fiddle and guitar. Comfortable with their instruments, the duo performed with inventive harmonies enchanting interpretations of well known and not so well known melodies and songs.
Ironstone, John Wright and Steve Lake gave an entertaining performance that lovers of Celtic music and song will enjoy and appreciate."

Bio

Influenced by The Pogues, Fairport convention and numerous other folk rock musicians, playing for anything from weddings festivals, parties, dances etc over the years Ironstone now looks to reintroduce some trad celtic music with Industrial Strength passion and fun. Good for dancing, getting involved- Jigs, reels, Rollicking ballads with a “Rock” edge. But if the occasion calls for it we can create a sedate musical atmosphere for more solemn occasions also- e.g. weddings. We can do the ceremony right through to the end of the night. Celtic or medieval weddings are a specialty. We throw in some great covers and a few originals as well for good measure. If your event calls for it we may even be able to bring along some highland dancers. We can also call traditional Australian Bush dancers if that's what you need. We're versatile.
