Born on the planet of Jupiter with the heart of Chicago comes… Isa Starr aka JupiterGyrl: The galaxies 9th wonder. Isa Starr is more than a singer; she is an experience of vocal poetry leaving audiences hypnotized by her elegant harmonies and melodies. She infuses hip hop, soul, and alternative rock with a little disco launching the new destiny of music: KosmicSolRoc. Isa writes “The definition of my mission is to kill or be killed.” These words express her dedication to the movement of her people through music which makes her a powerful and necessary voice. Rhyme shooting her way through the universe through rhyme, Isa Starr stimulates every chakra and opens the senses to vocal bliss. Isa Starr is the definition of an artist… forever changing. Her credits include: Musical Director for the POETREE Productions: “On a Poets Block”, “Bob Marley Monologues”, “Black”, “The Earth Show”, and “The Slam Scam”. She is member of POETREE Chicago, a hip-hop/spoken word crew that has performed nation-wide and has worked extensively with youth in New York, California and Chicago.
Isa Starr brings her message of altering the destiny of music from the depths of open mics to popular venues such as Navy Pier in Chicago, House of Blues, and S.O.B.s in New York. Isa has performed alongside Erykah Badu, The Roots, Common, Wu-Tang, Roy Ayers, Talib Kweli, Amel Larrieux and Dead Prez among others.
