Bio
Our formation began in 1998, but our current lineup solidified only two years ago. At the time, it was a purely instrumental quartet. We would just write new music, improvise, and experiment with ideas attempting gain an unprecedented musical identity. We would take gigs on occasion and perform very open-ended sets that were generally determined on our way to and during the shows. But after some time had passed we felt as though a new member of the band was necessary. The lead singer. Most musicians would agree that this is the component of a band that is the most difficult to fill. After a long period of auditions and seemingly pointless ventures, we found that final component. We found a component that would mesh so well with the existing chemistry of the group that it felt as though his presence had been there the entire time. So needless to say, the last two years have been very productive for the everyone in this band and has lead to some amazing experiences and accomplishments.
We have played at numerous venues in Central Florida, we have made a an excellent recording of our work, we won the 2005 University of Central Florida Battle of the bands, have had numerous articles written in publications such as Axis Magazine and Orlando Weekly, and showcased at the 2005 Florida Music Festival.
As for our influences and what we perceive ourselves to sound like...
We harness the raw blues sounds of Led Zeppelin, we dust the string funk and the vocal definitiveness heard from Incubus, we build chaotic rhythmic textures with nontraditional sound schemes who we have most appreciatively been exposed to by Radiohead, we make time to bat around musical ideas through improvisation, and we love mind bending poly rhythms and unusual time patterns that can often be experienced through the music of Tool. Please take a little bit of time to listen for yourself.
