His themes for Children and their Families celebrate the joys of childhood, friendship, family unity and share a natural desire for good will and the joyful discovery of the world just outside our doors.

(CHORUS)

Rainy day, rainy day

Hear the pitter patter, hear the pitter patter

Rainy day, rainy day

To me it does not matter

To me it does not matter

With my rub, rub, rub, rub rubbers

With my rub, rub, rub, rub rubbers

And my raincoat too, and my raincoat too

I shout, I shout, hooray, hooray

For the rain, for the rain

(Verse 1)

With my many toys for girls and boys

On such a rainy day

And if it doesn’t rain too much

I’ll go outside and play

(CHORUS)

(Verse 2)

Gonna bring my Dad, gonna bring my Mom

Together we’ll have so much fun

We can go play out in the rain

Gonna bring my Mom, bring my Dad

They’re the best parents I ever had

Together we can play out in the rain

Rainy day, rainy day (X 4)

Cardboard Wings

(Verse 1)

Underneath the Prairie Sky
There was a boy who longed to fly
He made himself some cardboard wings
And prepared himself for flight
It wasn’t easy as it seemed
For he found a snag in his new-found dream
That’s okay said the little boy
Tomorrow’s another day.

(CHORUS)

And he’ll fly away
Ooh, ooh, ooh, fly away
With his cardboard wings he’ll fly away
With his cardboard wings he’ll fly away

(Verse 2)

Well the years passed him by
The little boy who longed to fly
Off to university, a doctor he’d become
When it came time to graduate
That little boy could hardly wait
To do what must be done
To fly underneath, the northern prairie sky

(CHORUS)

(Verse 3)

They say of the young man
Now an old man is he
Still flying in through those clouds
There are those that he must see
And when his job is done
And things are packed away
He’ll talk for a little while
Then be on his way

(CHORUS)

And he’ll fly away
Ooh, ooh, ooh, fly away
With his cardboard wings he’ll fly away
With his cardboard wings he’ll fly away
With his cardboard wings he’ll fly away

(Verse 1)

Oh When I grow up know what I want to be,
A rubber-ducky in a plastic tree might sound weird, that’s OK with me,
That’s really what I want to be a Rubber Ducky in a plastic tree

(CHORUS)

What I want to be, what I want to be what I want to be what I want to be
Might sound weird, might sound weird that’s OK with me, that’s OK with me
That’s really what, that’s really what I want to be, that’s really what I want to be

(Verse 2)

Oh, when I grow up I know what I want to be
A Roller coaster at the PNE might sound weird, that’s OK with me
That’s really what I want to be a Roller Coaster at the PNE,
A Rubber Ducky in a plastic tree

(CHORUS)

(Verse 3)

Oh When I grow up I know what I want to be
A Band-aid on a hippie’s knee, it might sound weird, that’s OK with me
That’s really what I want to be a Band-aid on a hippie’s knee
A Roller Coaster at the CNE, a Rubber Ducky in a plastic tree

(CHORUS)

(Verse 4)

Oh, when I grow up I know what I want to be
A Butterfly would sure please me fly around oh so free
That’s what I would like to be a Butterfly would sure please me,
A Band-aid on a hippie’s knee, a Roller Coaster at the PNE,
A Rubber Ducky in a plastic tree

(CHORUS)

(Verse 5)

Oh, when I grow up I know what I want to see
To look like you and you can look like me
Learn to live in harmony, that’s what I would like to see
It’s good for you and it’s good for me; let’s learn to live in harmony.

(CHORUS)

What I want to be, what I want to be what I want to be what I want to be
Might sound weird, might sound weird that’s OK with me, that’s OK with me
That’s really what, that’s really what I want to be, that’s really what I want to be
That’s really what I want to be

No Shelter From the Storm

I’m rolling through the mountains on a Greyhound bus
Kelowna to Hope, I’m in God’s trust
It’s raining, it’s pouring; the roads look bad

This might be the last bus ride I ever have

CHORUS

No shelter from the storm
There’s no shelter from the storm
What can I do, it’s neither black nor white with you
Just a different shade of grey

My heart is broken, I feel confused
Disrespected and abused
There’s a big black cloud lingering over me

What can I do to set these feelings free?

CHORUS

It’s May 9th and a years gone by
I’m living in Hope under a bright blue sky
I’ve put behind me what I went through

Where there's hope, there's happiness and, I know that’s true

Tale of a Whale

(Verse 1)

I’ve got a friend who is a whale
With a yellow polka dotted tail
And every time we go swimming
We swim in my old bathtub

CHORUS
We swim here, we swim here
We swim there, we swim there
We swim almost everywhere, we swim almost everywhere
We go swimming without a care; we go swimming without a care
Swimming in my old bathtub

(Verse 2)

I was introduced to the fishes and the frogs
Sharks and the pollywogs
So many friends that I have met
While swimming in my old bathtub

(CHORUS)

(Verse 3)

I really don’t have a friend that is a whale
You’ve been told a fisherman’s tale
But if I did, know where I would swim
I’d go swimming in my old bathtub

(CHORUS)

Do You See

(Verse 1)

I’m going to tell you a story, about a man who looks like me
Who had this burning desire, to share life’s realities

From the moment that I saw you, as I gazed into your eyes
I knew my dreams and aspirations, were about to materialize

(CHORUS)

Do you see what I see, do you
Do you feel what I feel, do you
Do you want what I want, do you
I hope you do, yeah, really hope you do

(Verse 2)

Just try and imagine, you and I in another twenty years
Hand in hand we will venture, no reason to fear

(CHORUS)

(Verse 3)

Hand in hand walking up the steps of time
I’m so glad you chose to be a friend of mine

To love me and hold me, always think of me
Honey, as I do for you

(CHORUS)

Do you see what I see, do you
Do you feel what I feel, do you
Do you want what I want, do you
I hope you do, yeah, really hope you do

(Verse 1)

Half way across the prairies, gazing into the open sky
My heart is beating with anticipation, as tears of joy fall from my eyes

(CHORUS)

Hand in hand we will venture, what will be will be
And all I can think of darling, is that you’ll be with me

(Verse 2)

Somehow we got caught in a sandstorm, and neither of us could clearly see
Reach out and offer me your hand love, I promise that you can trust in me

(CHORUS)

Hand in hand we will venture, what will be will be
And all I can think of darling, is that you’ll be with me

(Verse 3)

Here we are amongst the mountains and the forests, and living by the sea
I’m so glad we made the right decision, to go west on seventeen

(CHORUS)

Hand in hand we will venture, what will be will be
And all I can think of darling, is that you’ll be with me

Gone Too Far

(Verse 1)

Well I went to a party, I was feeling okay
When I got home much to my dismay
Somebody broke in and stole everything I had
But I think they went too far, when they stole my old guitar

(CHORUS)

You could steal my shoes you could steal my clothes
You could steal anything I suppose
But I think you went too far
When you stole my old guitar

(Verse 2)

It might sound crazy, might sound absurd
My guitar was my best friend like a beautiful bird
For it helped me rise above when I felt so low
Yes I think they went too far, when they stole my old guitar

(CHORUS)

(Verse 3)

Anybody says that burglary’s a victimless crime
They should talk to me because it blew my mind
I felt so lost, like a puppy in the rain
Yeah I think they went too far, when they stole my old guitar

(CHORUS)
