Biography

Put all your eggs in one basket, roll the dice, don't look back, and see what can happen. This is the story of Iso- over two years of no shows, no performances, missed birthdays, skipped holidays, New Years' abandoned, relationships suffered, and sleepless nights spent captive in various New York City studios. This is the story behind the stories, the stressful days and nights, the magic moments, and everything else that came together and eventually gave birth to… 'WHAT ARE YOU IN SEARCH OF?' "Everyone is searching for something in their lives," says lead singer Jorge Gonzalez, "so after we realized that without knowing it, all the songs were about finding your way, searching for something, whatever that may be, we felt it appropriate to call the album that." "It's almost as if the opening line to the song, 'Honey', explains it all (spider traps the fly, leaves it to die, we don't know why, maybe to survive, just like a bee, maybe, we all need a little honey in our lives), adds band member/producer for the album Jared Schlemovitz, "we are all looking for that 'Honey', that one thing that will make our lives just that much sweeter. For some it's a girl, a new job, a change of location, whatever it is, we are all searching for something."

'WHAT ARE YOU IN SEARCH OF?' took the band over 3 years to release. They recorded it all over New York City in various studios whose owners believed in the project and wanted to do what they could to help the group. The band- JORGE GONZALEZ, vocals/guitar; JOEY BRITTON, guitar; JARED SCHLEMOVITZ, piano/guitar; ARI FINK, bass; and SPENCER COHEN, drums- will begin touring in support of the album in the Fall of '06.

For 'WHAT ARE YOU IN SEARCH OF?', Iso came together as a group to get the album completed. After Jump Ship Records heard several productions of Jared's (JSchlem), they asked him to step up and produce the entire project. "The goal for us, as a start-up, was to release something that the band was really proud of, and no one had a better understanding of the songs and what it would take to produce them than Jared," comments label representative David Poe. "The way we felt was that if we want the world to connect with this record, it has to start with the band and label truly loving it first."
