ISSUE-72 was formed by Tom Moorhouse, Evo and Tommy Howlin in 2008. Later that same year singer/songwriter Martin Furlong joined the band. In March 2009 they recorded their first E.P “Caught in a Trap”. After completing the recording, Tommy decided to leave the band which paved way for new drummer Darren Fitzpatrick. Darren quickly integrated into the band and they continued working in the same line-up until 2010 when a fifth member Kenny Blue joined the band on lead guitar. Shortly after Kenny’s arrival the band recorded their second and latest E.P “Hard Knocks” which has been met with rave reviews. The band continued working on the “Hard Knocks” Music Video. The Music Video describes the drastic fall of the Celtic Tiger.

Jackie Hayden: Hot Press Magazine
E.P “Hard Knocks” - 2010
“Their vocal sound and melodic thrust has aspects of The Doors about it, and there’s more subtlety and variety in their set...”

Jackie Hayden
E.P “Caught in a Trap” - 2009
“Wexford based indie rock foursome ISSUE-72 have a new E.P "Caught in a Trap". The brash title track bears comparison to Nirvana in the guitar department, although Martin Furlong’s lead vocals have the gutsy touches of Nick Cave. The synths, played by “Radiators from Space” man Pete Holidai adds texture to the solid rhythm.”

“The catchy "She Doesn't Know" is slower sonically tough until it shifts up several gears and runs riot.”

"One Day" has more subtlety although suggestions that it has elements of Jazz are sheer fantasy. There's a dark edge to the track while Holidai's production give's it a grandeur that drag's you back for more.”

Narodno Delo – Bulgarian Newspaper
“Old school rock dressed in a modern way with a spicy taste which drag’s you to an excitement suicide. An incredible mixture of sounds and culture: two nations in one VIVA LA Europe.”

Dnes Plus – Bulgarian Newspaper
“Caught in a Trap” is an incredible mixture of 60’s surf, 80’s New Wave, 90’s Grunge. “She Doesn’t Know” is bringing punk to a new level which gives an incredible feeling when you listen to it. The E.P is award deserving; I hope some day we will see them in Bulgaria.”
