"Itching Eyeball...(the left one)"

“With a name like Itching Eyeball ... (the left one) it's obvious that this alternative experimental rock band is no ordinary band. Heavily influenced by the band's diverse musical and cultural backgrounds and underlined by energy and emotion, Itching Eyeball ... (the left one)'s music not only sounds good, but feels good too. On stage, the band seamlessly blends rock, pop, alternative, grunge, electronic, progressive and more into a show that's full of life.”
- Susannah Grey (freelance writer)

"Itching Eyeball...(the left one) - live"

“Emotional and inspiring music performed by good musicians. Musically extraordinary. They searched for their own line and sound, and they have indeed found it. Classy with a capital C. It is simply very good and pleasant to listen to.”
— Bastiaan de Leeuw, NHPop Live Review - NHPop

"Introducing Itching Eyeball...(the left one)"

Introducing Itching Eyeball (the left one). Itching Eyeball (the left one) is a trio based in Amsterdam, formed by a Colombian, a German and a Dutchman. The band evolved from the electronic experiments of Han Luis Cera who found kindred spirits in the persons of Tristan Driessenaar (Guitar) and Henning Brand (Drums). This threesome has been honing their craft for several years, playing live and preparing for their first musical statement, an 5 track EP called TKINARI. This debut is not just a collection of songs, it's an introduction to the magical musical realism of the multi-national trio. Although inhabiting their own musical universe, Itching Eyeball (the left one) is not isolated from the real world. At times the band sounds like Radiohead with tunes or Muse with a beat. It's prog-rock with a heart, performed by a hard rocking drummer, a jazzy guitarist and a musical omnivore on keyboards and computers. The Itching Eyeball... (the left one) introduction comes with a graphic novel with drawings by singer/composer/keyboardist Cera. Like the music, the comic book is simultaneously inviting and alienating, and very well executed. The first contact with Itching Eyeball... (the left one) is only five songs long, which will leave a lot of ears(both ones) itching for more. For now it will suffice, but only in the knowledge that there is more where this came from!

Bio

Itching Eyeball... (the left one) is an electro-alternative rock band, which came out of an electronic solo project of singer/keyboard player Han Luis Cera. The band merged into it's definite formation when drummer Henning Brand, guitarist Tristan Driesenaar and finally VJ NovaTune Image, Carlos da Silva joined in November 2010. Their influences are mainly alternative rock, grunge, electronic and progressive music. Combining those with a graphic novel, Itching Eyeball... (the left one) lays down a "twisted tale"-like atmosphere, letting the spectator lose him/herself in a live show full of energy and emotions.
Tkinari is the name of their first studio EP, available from the 31st of May 2011, which was released at the Comedy Theater in Amsterdam, together with a comic book that goes parallel to the music, by the same name.
