Naturally I’m gonna pay attention to anything Makonnen-related. When “Working That”—which is one of 21 tracks on Orlando rapper itsADOLLA‘s brand new tape—danced across my timeline this morning, I gave it an immediate spin and have given it about 20 more since.
“Ain’t got no 9 to 5, but I’m making 5 to 9″ is a wonderful hook, and for anyone that’s followed Makonnen this year, it’s not surprising that he was able to craft yet another one. His verse is equally enjoyable, and though DOLLA’s isn’t overwhelming, it’s still solid. Aron "itsADOLLA" Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York to a single mother January 11, 1993. At an early age, itsADOLLA would take the time away from being a "Normal Kid" and write a lot of poetry in his composition notebook. Soon he then learned how to start compiling these thoughts on paper and turning them into actual songs. Around the time, he was fourteen his life turned a full 360 when he and his family moved 1,000 miles south to Orlando, Florida.
Being a "Native Northerner" in a Southern Atmosphere was not an easy transition for itsADOLLA. While attending Colonial High School, he started recording his own music out of his home studio. He used this as an escape knowing it was the only thing that was still familiar to him. He started formulating song concepts and catchy tunes, over industry instrumentals and then releasing them to his fellow peers. He continued releasing his music through out his High School career until he graduated in 2011.
He took a full year off school and started thinking about what it was he really wanted to pursue in life. Since his music was so well received in High School, he figured he would become a rapper. So he applied at Valencia Community College and got accepted to start a fall semester the following year. His Major? Advertising and Marketing of course!
August 2012 was the start for "Orlando's Youngest Entertainment Moguls" career. He met "Bumble Bee" which is his 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer and mascot for the team, started working on his Mixtape "#LANCERMUZIK", and attending College full time. While other rappers would have searched sites like SoundClick or Soundcloud for music production, itsADOLLA actually reached out to local producers in his area.
December of that year would be when he would meet the person that would take his career to the next level.
Eddy "Bulletz" Then was a young producer in the city of Orlando, FL that was known for having features with major artists. Early in itsADOLLAs career Bulletz helped him out by teaching him how to do street promo and club promotions when itsADOLLA was part of Bulletz first Street Team. Threw some personal hardships in his life Bulletz went M.I.A. from music for a few years until itsADOLLA brought him back to life. Ever since that day that itsADOLLA and Eddy Bulletz linked up they have been working together ever since. He helped itsADOLLA establish his first "Licensed Business" in the state of Florida, and has helped Executive Produce his entire mixtape.
itsADOLLA is a new artist with a highly anticipated Street Album and Double Mixtape release on the horizon. He has established him self as a force to be reckoned with in his home town and afar. Having already performed at Huge Venues outside the city like The World Famous King Of Diamonds Gentlemens Club in Miami, FL. Also for Big Showcases like Coast2Coast Mixtapes Miami Showcases, and Hollywoodz Ent. BET 106 and Park Spring Bling Showcase in Daytona Beach, FL. Also landing Industry Leading features on his Album from the likes of Cory Gunz (YMCMB), King Los (Bad Boy), Gunplay (MMG), and Vado (We The Best Music Group).
He is a rising star that is only starting to shine. With a Industry Ready Mixtape, Full service entertainment company, and his loyal team behind him the sky is the limit.
