"Get To Know: Dallas The Femcee"

Antanesha Dallas is a female mc from the lower west side of NYC,
an area affectionately known as "Chelsea". Being the only girl with seven brothers she states that; “I grew up a tomboy because I wanted so bad to fit in with my brothers so I did everything they did like play basketball, football, boxing and video games.”

In March of 2008 her son Ezekiel also known as “Zeke” was born, changing her life forever. Dallas states that; “Growing up in a single parent home and knowing how much of a struggle that is I
just wanted something better for my son.”. 9 years old Zeke shows off his love of dancing in DALLAS very first Music video “Situations” which also serves as a tribute to one of her brothers.
At the very same age Dallas developed her MC skills. She states that; “Music has always been a big part of my life, around 9 years old I started writing poems and short stories about things that were going on at home.” But it was her introduction to spoken word at the age of 13 years old that birthed the lyricist we hear today.

Some of her musical influences are JADAKISS, FABOLOUS, JAY-Z and SLICK RICK. She also has an equally impressive list of female musical influences such as REMY MA, MC LYTE, BRANDY and also BIA.

DALLAS states that; “What separates me from other artist is I don’t want to be typecast and only sell sex as a female emcee I want to sell substance as well, I have a head full of real life stories that I hope inspires people to be the best versions of themselves, and ride it until the wheels fall off.”DALLAS has done live performances in her native NYC (talent showcases), the west coast (opening act for Cali artist), and also the Midwest (Only female mc on Kings of Flow in Kansas), and has an ever growing social media following (its_dallas89 - Instagram and NeshaDallas - Facebook). - C75 Live

Bio

Ranked as a dope crowd pleaser in the underground music industry "Dallas" is a true entertainer. When she hits the stage her natural engagement with the audience is instant and before her set is over 90% of those in attendance are loving the message and singing along.

Antanesha Dallas professionally known as "Dallas" is a female hip-hop lyricist from The Lower West Side in New York City. Born on February 8, 1989 to a single mother of seven with Antanesha Dallas being the only girl she was destined to be a tomboy which she embraced entirely. Rolling with her brothers everywhere and doing what boys did, from playing basketball to video games, she learned from young how to be a beast.

Dallas had a hard knock life for a childhood. She was taken away from her mother at the age of 3 years old for 6 years and during that time faced abusive conditions. Reunited with her mother at 9 years old was still tough as Dallas felt forgotten and heartbroken which she turned into poems and short stories to express her feelings. At 12 years old she was locked up at a youth detention center where she spent the next 2 years of her life. While at the detention center she was introduced to spoken word and by the time she returned home at the age of 14 she was writing rhymes. Her teen years where filled with anger and so she wrote about it. In the summer of 2007 Dallas found out that she was pregnant and it changed her life and way of thinking. Done with high school she decided to take classes toward a criminal justice degree and work a full time job.

On March 12, 2008 she gave birth to her son Ezekiel Osano Nieves, she received her degree and worked hard at being a great mom and kept secretly writing. Dallas Never let her rhymes be heard because she did not think anyone would want to hear what she had to say. Encouraged by the hit song "Panda" she did a freestyle to the beat on March 16, 2017 and posted it to Instagram as well as Facebook and started toward her Rap career.

Dallas has been working nonstop since that first freestyle in 2017 and has made a name for herself and her music not just as an artist but as a producer and songwriter. Producing and writing songs like dance craze hit "Body Moves" which has started dance challenges all the way in India. Dallas is especially known for promoting Female Unity and her mission is to unify the female presences in the hip-hop culture by introducing the world to her brand of Girl Power. Dallas states  "what separates me from other artist is I don't want to be typecast and only sell sex. As a female emcee I want to sell substance as well, I have a head full of real life stories that I hope inspires people to be the best versions of them selves and ride it until the wheels fall off".

Some of Dallas musical accomplishments includes 9 music videos, live performances on the west cost and midwest and of course her hometown NYC. In the summer of 2018 She was requested and booked as the main entertainment for Donshea Hopkins (of the hit show "Power") Sweet 16 as well as opened up for Donshea's annual Christmas give back concert at the flagship Reebox store on 14th street in New York City later that year. Dallas has been published in the WCW Magazines first  Artist Edition as a rising hip-hop artist to be on the look out for.

Dallas is currently a physical education teacher and is working on officially organizing her charity O.Y.C.B.Y "Only You Can Be You" for talented youth and young people.
