Bio
Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona to Persian parents, Josephine’s musical influence came from Middle Eastern music and hip hop alike. Josephine grew up listening to world music, hip hop and blues ranging from Persian artist Moein, greats Etta James and Janis Joplin, to rap, most notably Eminem. The melting pot of influence served as the basis for her unique sound and sing-rap cadence much like SZA and Halsey. J
Josephine’s self-released debut visual album “Love Trap: The Story” released in August 2017 has garnered over 150,000 streams to date and features on publications like High Snobiety & Magnetic Mag to name a few.
She has performed domestically and internationally accompanied by an award-winning 4-piece band.
Josephine's sophomore album Chasing High is coming Summer 2018. The album pays homage to 90s teen pop culture, taking listeners back to their glory days..
