"We love this gal. The audience loves this gal. Itu always gives a beautiful performance that just oozes love. Her performance is her offering. "
- Ian Steep 30 August 2005
"Itu opened the night and what a woman. Just her and a guitar gave one of the moving performances I've ever seen. Honesty and simplicity at its finest, encapsulating the essence of Club Acoustica, putting her on par with the likes of Tracey Chapman. " - Ida Tovato 19 Aug 2002
"Her warm presence filled the room with a soft Fijian breeze as she strummed her way through a set filled with honey, papaya, late summer days and sitting around with friends. " - Ian Steep - June 9 2005
"i highly recommend ITU - a sydney based angel who i saw perform at the village festival... she presents the most honest and moving music - and what is more, she is such an inspiring and graceful and spirited girl" - Nathan (Maestoso) - 4 Augst 2005
"As Itu’s self-appointed hagiographer, I was pleased as always to be in the same company as this gal. Her warm presence, her strong but gentle voice and her sensitive, sometimes lonely, tunes touch your soul. Here’s a true story: a patron who came to see the ticketed show upstairs came downstairs for a comfort stop. Upstairs is Lillias White doing “Brooklyn to Broadway” with full band and a packed room; downstairs is Itu, alone on a stage with a guitar. The woman says to herself, “Huh? Where do I go? Back up, or stay down.” She said later, eulogising Itu, “Two different performers, neither better than the other, just different. And both so good!” That’s our Itu. And that’s a true story..." - Ian Steep (15/09/05)
Moving from hope to pain and longing, and back to hope, the album has a cuclic and somehwat idealistic structure, which never the less takes us on a journey. It threatens to melt the icy stalactites of our cynicism with the invitation to find healing and a soft landing ground amongst the hard surfaces of life...
... this is a "well polished but enjoyably humble record" ....
Steph Gesling ... - The South Sydney Herald Vol1:49 March 2007
