Ivan Polanco

Ivan Polanco is an up and coming singer/songwriter hailing from New York. An avid drummer in his beginnings as a musician, he later discovered the guitar through his father, Dennis Polanco. Both father and son would combine their talents to form the band Eveningson, and with the experience of having played live beginning at the tender age of 8, Ivan quickly gravitated to the intricacies of the guitar.

Throughout his teen years, he began to cover classics such as Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E”, and an eclectic slew of artists from various genres, ranging from The Beatles, to Radiohead, and George Michael. From this musical palette, Ivan soon created original songs, and was a frequent performer in his high school’s Songwriters Club, headed by his father Dennis Polanco (who happens to teach English at the school). By the summer of 2010, he released his breakthrough CD In This Fire. Although he is starting college in the Fall 2011, he is currently performing in Songwriting festivals and singer-songwriter cafes. He is excitedly working on releasing his second CD due by the end of 2011.
