Biography

Ivy and The Chance is a Liverpool based band lead by 19 year old singer-songwriter Ivy L'amìe, real name Shannen Bamford. Ivy has been performing as a solo artist for the past 2 years around Merseyside, playing in venues such as The Cavern, The Zanzibar and local festivals such as the Croxteth Music Festival and Matthew Street Festival. In late 2011 she struck a deal with a London based producer to record an album which will be split into two EPs, the first to be released this summer, and the second later on in the year.

After hearing her songs come to life in the studio with a range of different instruments, she decided to bring that sound to the stage and recruited a drummer, double bassist and pianist. We felt the new line-up required a new name, and after throwing round a few ideas over drinks we settled on Ivy and The Chance. The band has since established themselves within the music scene, played several gigs, had radio play on BBC Introducing Merseyside and reached number 2 on the ACA Music online chart.

We would describe our genre as pop/acoustic with hints of blues and folk here and there,

"Ivy and The Chance with sweetest folksy, bluesy sounds wrapped delightfully around her beautiful lyrics."
