"Heat Magazine"

They have toured and played anywhere they could, they left no listener dissappointed. They have gone as far as the Yukon, leaving their mark on people everywhere they went. They have quickly gained recognition of having an outstanding live show.

In the summer of 2002 they were nominated for Outstanding Rock Recording Of The Year at the Canadian Prairie Music Awards. Others nominated were The Watchman, Sonic Bloom, Nickelback.

Only a year and half later, the pre-release of the follow up album In Reply saw the boys featured on Winnipeg's Power 97Fm, the Canadian Top 10 on Q94Fm and Freq107, where 3 singles enjoyed regular rotation.

It is said that the common cord to propel this band lies in what it believes: "Where i stand tommorrow, is where I walked today." Call it vision, call it talent, or call it a bunch or guys who love music. No matter what you may or may not think of this band and its unique sound, one thing is for sure. Everybody can sense the excitement of I WITNESS, as they pursue all life has to offer. - Rob Gregoire

"The Carillon"

CD Release Party - Sept 25/03
Pantages Playhouse Theatre

Led by strong vocals from singer Robb Riemer, the enthusiatic crowd jumped, danced, swayed, and even sang along with their catchy tunes. This was particularly noticeable during "Tommorrow", already somewhat of a hit song for the 5 piece band thanks to some consistant airplay on some Winnipeg radio stations.

The concert featured a spectacular light show, and the band's stage presence and sound was superb.

The band took to the studio last fall and completed the album after more than 8 months of work. And its paid off; the result is a solid, polished effort that speaks to such pithy issues as war, relationships and spirituality.

In addition to their previous tours, two studio releases and radio airplay, the band has already achieved a modest success.

Just over a year ago, their debut album was nominated for Outstanding Rock Recording of the Year at Canada's Prairie Music Awards, facing stiff competition from national music industry heavyweights like Sonic Bloom, The Watchman and Nickelback. - Michelle Labelle

""In Reply" CD review"

....Five piece rock band is cut from the same clothes as groups such as Nickelback, Match box 20 and Our Lady Peace. Its no surprose then that I Witness has been nominated for some of the same awards as these big-name bands(notably facing Chad and Co.in the outstanding rock album category at the 2002 Prairie Music Awards.)
On In Reply, the members of this six-year old outfit show they have learned a few things in their time together. They also believe in what they're singing about - something that can only help in the future.............. - Mike Warkentin - Uptown Mag

Bio

One of the best live shows in Canada, this 4 piece from Winnipeg, Manitoba is creating a stir.

After spending the first 3 years composing what would be the songs of their debut album titled “mended”, the band began touring and playing shows in Winnipeg, rural Manitoba and toured as far as the Yukon.

In the fall of 2002 their 1st album “mended” was nominated for Outstanding Rock Recording of the Year at the Canadian PMA’s against the likes of The Watchmen, Sonic Bloom and Nickelback. Selling over 1000 units to date they knew they needed to respond big and to develop their sound.

In 2003 their sophomore release “In Reply” took them to a new level in writing and performing. Robb has come into himself in regards to writing, letting the music flow and allowing lyrics to be formed through the flow. After spending 6 years together they have developed their concerts into more then just going to watch a band. You are drawn in and experience their songs, leaving with a feeling that you have been a part of something.

“In Reply” sold over 1000 units in 6 months and secured them a national distribution deal. 2 singles were featured on the Rock for a Reason compilation disc with Our Lady Peace, 5440, and Finger 11 to benefit the African Aids Crisis.

2004 saw the band share the stage with the likes of Harlequin, Boston, Journey, the Doors, Donnie McDougall of the Guess Who. They played to a crowd of 50,000 people at Winnipeg’s Canada celebration and have defined themselves as one of Canada’s up and comers.

I Witness has always thought big and gone for it, constantly growing and evolving and doing things their own way. What is next? It is a long road to be an overnight success. Their 3rd album will be recorded this winter with Juno Award winning producer Brandon Friesen and if history repeats itself, it will be their best album yet. Their new songs grab you and won’t let go.

Their motto continues through the years, “no limits, and no boundaries
