Iyke Stevens

Like everyone else, Iyke got his first kick off with music at age ten. A Journey that started with song writing and dancing amongst other hobbies, but his gift of a subtle mind caught the attention of many more, as his parents strict rules that forbids him from singing and dancing turned his musical hobbies into his pet secret. 

Music is not what anyone can hide for too long, the gripe of the muse became too obvious. He spent lots of his time writing songs, but felt like a fish out of water as his songs were purely western classics. To create a local attention, he wrote African tunes with equal uniqueness as his western songs, a fit that spurred him to limelight. 

Starting off on a platter of gold, with his debut performance to a VIP audience of some European Ambassadors on a dinner party hosted by the French ambassador at the french cultural center, Ikoyi Lagos Nigeria,  to  two life performances on a national TV (NTA's A.M express) a couple of events, with tons of life radio request of his song " Ezi Nwanne", the expectations of a grand break through was obvious until the entire project was nipped at the bud following it released in 2007 on grounds of political interference as a tip off from an on air personal, expressed that most of his songs were deemed as a political sinew intended to discredit the government. The album was withdrawn almost immediately with the good spirit of not wanting to interfere with the ongoing political campaigns at the time. 

Not wanting to be involved in any political rigor, Iyke fell back to his western music hoping to take advantage of the new age online community. Iyke Stevens was born in Lagos Nigeria on 25th of April 1975 with birth name IkeChukwu Mgborogwu Uwalaka and his biggest dream is world peace.
