The IZ band was formed a summer day in Maine in 2001 when Kathy walked by AJ playing guitar on the sidewalk, struck up a conversation and ended up jamming. Kathy introduced John into the mix and tada a band was formed! We have had various members come and go but the 3 of us are the core members. With all of us over 30 and having no kids, we have been able to dedicate the time and energy into getting it right and capturing the magic that only music can bring. We have played the Bonny Eagle car show to 15,000 people from on top of a double decker bus to being one of the first rock bands to play in a maine parade. AJ has been playing solo from Maine to Hawaii with original and cover music and he is ready to bring his 60+ original songs into the band environment for a whole new flavor. We get great joy in bringing people of all ages that toe tapping, hip swaying, hand clapping soulful music and seeing the smiles. The name of our band is IZ, it implies total acceptance of the moment, no matter what. It IZ what it is!
