Izzy Martin

Izzy Martin is about to release her debut album, with much excitement and support from her promising fans. With a new intriguing sound in her songs, she`s hoping to attract some new listeners and gain the support she deserves.
Growing up with parents who listened to a wide range of music, Izzy has developed a style that is a result of seventeen years of musical influence. There`s a main feel for pop genre in her music, with a hint of country as her `twang` began to peak through.
It wasn`t until the age of ten when Izzy took it upon herself to go after what she really wanted; play music. Her parents immediately signed her up for vocal and piano lessons. Music came to her naturally which seemed odd as no one else in her family was musically inclined. She soon after picked up a guitar and began lessons; something else that came so naturally to her. From Grade 7-10, Izzy played Alto Sax in music class, expanding her musical knowledge. In Grade eleven, Izzy was accepted into the musical theatre program at Etobicoke School Of the Arts after an intense audition process. She showed much dedication from taking an early train to school every morning, to staying late for musical rehearsals. After a year at that school, Izzy realized she needed to focus on what really made her happy and move forward with her own music and getting an album out. She has been writing her own music since the age of ten, where she recorded her first song with a voice coach on GarageBand. Since then, she has been writing numerous styles of music to see what really clicks with her. Finally feeling at home in the studio, Izzy is happier than ever to be able to record her own music and hear the songs wrap up successfully over and over again. Izzy is most comfortable sitting behind a piano and simply pouring out her heart with true passion and love behind each of her words.

She has been lucky enough to be involved with many performing opportunities which include; numerous school musicals, countless school concerts and shows and gigs both solo as well as with her 6-piece cover band. Her musical ambitions are continuing to grow the more she plays, writes and records. She is keen to point out that everything she listens to directs her musical development in some way including Adele, Joss Stone, Sarah McLachlan, Michelle Featherstone, Elisa, Stevie Nicks, Sugarland as some of her biggest influences. Being influenced by such powerful songwriters, Izzy finds it much easier to become emotionally attached to her own songs and lyrics. All of her songs provide a combination of rich and soulful quality in all vocals, rhythmic and whaling guitars and catchy melody lines to keep her sound young and fresh.
