BALTIMORE, Maryland (August 6, 2007) - - Gospel recording artist, songwriter and producer IZZY makes a smash guest appearance on the latest album from Stellar Award-winner DA’ T.R.U.T.H. Known, as the “Urban Psalmist,” IZZY wrote and performed on the upbeat, cruncked-out, urban collaboration “I Need You” on DA’ T.R.U.T.H.’s new CD Open Book, which released July 10 on Cross Movement Records also featuring guest appearances by The Cross Movement, Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, FLAME, J.R., Trip Lee (www.datruth.net).
IZZY’s own album, In Awe Of You, released in May 2006 debuted on Billboard’s Gospel Chart at No. 45. The album continues to gain kudos from fans, critics and radio programmers for its eclectic mix of soulful ballads and urban rockers.
IZZY recently wrapped a 10-city, 5-city UK tour in support of In Awe Of You making appearances in Northampton, Manchester, Reading, Liverpool and London. He has also made appearances on WGN/CW Channel 9’s Morning News (Chicago, IL) and the Sheridan Gospel Network/ The Light as a featured guest co-host with Ace Alexander’s Praise Party (Atlanta, GA).
At age 30, IZZY has experienced his share of tragedy and triumph, overcoming a physical handicap, homelessness and clinical depression. Both his own CD and his new track for DA’ T.R.U.T.H reflects the grateful heart and lifestyle of worship for which he is known.

They call him the Urban Psalmist. IZZY has already overcome a physical handicap, homelessness and clinical depression. But dont look for a tragic ending to this story. IZZY has taken control of destinys pen and is scripting a story of perseverance, determination and triumph! This singer, songwriter and producer has taken the gospel music industry by storm with the Fred Hammond meets John Legend vibe of his debut album, In Awe Of You.
A third generation preachers kid, IZZY was born with open sores and his hip popped out of joint, doctors held little hope of him leading a normal life. His parents were cautiously advised of the limits his disability would impose on his future. His birth name (Israel) was chosen in honor of the biblical patriarch, who suffered from the same impairment after wrestling with God for a blessing. Like his namesake who overcame adversity, IZZY, too, would defy the odds. He not only learned to walk without a limp, he was even able to run track and play football!
His father, an army sergeant, was assigned to Germany when IZZY was three years old. His formative yearsboth developmentally and musicallywere spent in Heidelberg and Manheim. Despite enjoying an idyllic and stable home life, young IZZY simply did not fit in with his peers. While other boys his age enjoyed video games and sports, he preferred passing time in the library listening to classical music.
In Awe Of You is IZZYs musical memoir told through a melodious symphony of swinging beats, hypnotic hooks, crooning harmonies and strikingly transparent lyrics. IZZY hopes to reach those who feel forgotten by the church and society. An eclectic mix of soulful ballads and urban rockers, In Awe Of You challenges the boundaries of traditional Gospel music but most importantly, it challenges the listener to stand in awe of the God of eternal hope and infinite possibility.
