Starting off 2016, J Metro has been doing a slew of shows and performances. The new record written by J Metro will soon be his ninth billboard charting record to date!
The newly released record “Mercy Merci”, has already been making noise on airwaves and will soon have a video release. A true R&B record, the new single elaborates on a relationship controlled by want and need of acceptance. “Who Do you Think you are?” Just one of the phrases from the new song, that invoke emotion to the listeners ears.
Houston, TX is gearing up for the GO DJ Awards on July 18, be on the look out for J Metro on the red carpet of the event.
Jimmie (J Metro) Moore is a Singer, Songwriter, Composer, Multi-Instrumentalist and Poet based in Houston Texas. Jimmie L Moore Jr. began his musical training at the age of 5 with individual piano and voice lessons, group musicianship skills were also learned at a young age when in middle school he learned to play the trombone participating in concert and marching band as well as joined several academic and community choral ensembles.
Jimmie Moore received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition with primary instruments in Piano performance and Vocal Performance from Morehouse College. - Rueben Woods
Continuing his success with the release of Sentir Mon Amour (Feel My Love), Grammy considered singer-songwriter J Metro prepares to release the new visuals for his latest single “Midnight Dreams”. The video shot for the single was captured by J Metro himself while touring in the country of Switzerland for WIPO, and edited by media icon Rueben Wood.

Written and produced by J Metro, “Midnight Dreams” is the third single from the neo-soul electrifying album Sentir Mon Amour which is still in the early stages of its success being released on July 10th digitally and in stores August 7th. The leading single “Bodyguard” charted at number 12 on Billboard’s Single Sales Chart, giving the initial push needed for the album to become successful.
J Metro was also featured on Great Day Houston’s Debra Duncan show as the in studio live band. While featured he performed some of hits and a special tribute to the city of Baltimore, MD. During this performance he was set to play “Midnight Dreams” but instead chose “In Our Streets” to address the community issues surrounding breaking news and media portrayals of current happenings.
Right before signing to The Orchard, his single “Shades of Gray” became the artists most successful billboard charting single peaking at #1 on the Hot R&B Singles chart. J Metro has achieved increased levels of success with latest singles “Frosty” and “Bodyguard”. “Frosty”, released in December 2013, was honored by the Recording Arts Academy for it’s commercial success by being entered into the “Song of the Year” and “Solo Pop Performance” fields in the first round of voting consideration for the 57th Grammy awards. While a Funk/Soul/Jazz base exists, you may recognize influences from nearly every musical genre known to man in his Self-titled debut album “J Metro” which was released on January 25th 2011 featuring the Billboard singles “Alcoholic Logic” and “My People”
“My People (All Over The World)” was released in 2010 peaking at #82 on the Billboard R&B Hot 100, #3 HotSingle Sales, #2 Hot R&B Single Sales, and #4 Bubbling Under R&B/ Hip Hop Singles “Alcoholic Logic” was released in 2011 following the release of the album and placed on the following billboard charts, #2 Hot R&B Single Sales, #8 Hot Single Sales, #16 Bubbling Under R&B/Hip Hop Singles.
Second Album “Metropolis Saga”, released February 19th 2013, has three billboard Charting singles to date in hit songs “Baby”, “Shades of Gray” and “Governor’s Anthem. Single “Shades of Gray” became the artists most successful billboard charting single peaking at #1 on the Hot R&B Singles chart.

2015 Album “Sentir Mon Amour E.P” celebrated the continued musical growth of J Metro with two Billboard Charting Singles “Bodyguard” and “Midnight Dreams”. Single Midnight Dreams was considered for a Grammy nomination in the 58th Grammy Awards for “Best R&B Performance” and “Song of the Year” while “Sentir Mon Amour E.P” was considered for Best R&B Album.
With 8 Billboard Charting Singles, J Metro has opened for Faith Evans, Brian McKnight, John B, Mary J Blige, Maurice Star, Allen Stone and Bruno Mars. Already an established Global presence. In 2013 J Metro toured West Africa as the headlining American artist in the Jazz A Ouaga Music Festival located in Burkina Faso and was a guest speaker, panelist, and performer at the 2015 World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva Switzerland
