Bio
J-REEL wrote his first poem in June of 1999. He was most impressed with the way poetry can take something so complicated and simplify it with very little words. Poets he read like Langston Hughes, Edgar Allen Poe, and Robert Frost, inspired him to ink his own poetry. After writing several poems, he was soon convinced by his peers to put his writings to music. Composing and producing his own music did not take long for him to learn, having been exposed to music early in his middle school and high school bands.
As he developed his own style of music, he was heavily influenced by many popular artists such as Nas, Jay-Z, and The LOX. All of which he liked. But growing up in a strong Christian family, the gospel music he regularly heard in church and around the house, persuaded him to create songs with a more positive message.
Perception and public image is very important when creating a brand. J-REEL fully understands that, having been on both sides of the media. He is versed in all aspects of the industry and ready to begin his career as a national musical artist.
