Bio

JABBERWOCKEY are a band who are dedicated and deeply passionate about creating quality music. Based out of Minneapolis, MN, these four teenagers all grew up immersed in music, and it is apparent in theirs. From lead singer Pete's grandfather playing guitar and accordion and singing folk, to drummer and bassist James and Kimberly Coffman's mother cranking classic 80's records, these kids learned from an early age what music should look, sound, and feel like. With influences ranging from Bob Dylan to the Replacements, from U2 to Mozart, from Led Zeppelin to the Cure, JABBERWOCKEY ends up with a very special sound that is unique only to them.
It's not just the music, but having songs that are lyrically written about a variety of books and the blights of our current culture that gives the band a true meaning and very personal, hearts-on-their-sleeves feel. With that being said, the members of the band are all real, honest people whose love and belief in what they do carries on stage and off.
If you haven't seen JABBERWOCKEY live, you need to. From the energetic hand-clapping introduction, the flowing intertwined core, to the dramatic spine-chilling ending, the JABBERWOCKEY show tells a story you do not want to miss.
The band is also known for having the ability to "flex" with the demographics of the audience. If you want a punk show for an audience full of adrenaline-surged teenagers, they can give you a punk show. If you want a rock show that appeals to an all-age audience, it can be done. If you want more of a low-key, acoustic, coffee shop-esque show, they can deliver.
With the average age of the band being only eighteen, JABBERWOCKEY are a band who are beyond their years and definitely ahead of their time in their music, lyric, and attitude.

JABBERWOCKEY also frequently plays with The Orchestra, a 3-9 piece (varies, respectively) string section founded by the band in 2008.

The Orchestra is the brainchild of mastermind drummer, James Coffman. He wanted to set out to create an eclectric blending of JABBERWOCKEY's unconventional alternative rock with a more traditional, Classical-Renaissance musical feel, and he did just that. Arranged and composed all by Coffman and mixed with Pete Krausert's heartfelt lyrics and driving guitar, The Orchestra is something that truly sets JABBERWOCKEY apart from the ranks of bands coming out of the Minneapolis music scene.
