What a great sound! It all works really well together. We definitely do like it and we’d like to hear some more. This group is very versatile. It’s always great to see a band that enjoys what you’re doing. Brilliant songs; so much positive energy!” - Chris White

Bio

Jabbour is a musical family, bringing together some of Montreal's finest folk and roots musicians. Singer songwriter Guillaume Jabbour blends together a bilingual approach to songwriting with various musical styles, largely influenced by chanson francophone, Québécois, Western Swing and Cajun music. Bernadette Fortin is the perfect compliment to Jabbour's songwriting, recreating Québécois trad, blues and Cajun fiddle with extraordinary versatility, and providing dark contralto vocals. With a background in jazz, Eastern European folk, Klezmer and Balkan music, bassist Carl Boodman completes the string section. Bill Collier's rich vocal harmonies, songwriting style and militant yet soothing percussions solidify the rhythm section. In short, we are a folk and roots band and we allow ourselves to be swayed by our many influences that fall within the folk genre.

After having received a recording grant from FACTOR, our debut album will be launched June 30th in Montreal and July 15th in Ottawa. After the success of our West Coast tour last summer, we are embarking on a tour of the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario this summer.
