Jabu

Born and raised in the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, Jabu plays no concrete instrument but his sound-synthesizing software, layering his smooth and mellow vocals on the instrumentals he produces.  Kingdom In The Sky - EP, the first official release from Jabu, was released on November 21st, 2013. Comprised of five songs with a rich, melt sound and featuring falsetto vocals on a few of the songs, the EP covers personal issues from lovelornness to finding his way in modern society. Since his arrival in the US in 2011, Jabu has sung baritone & bass in two Austin-based choirs, Huston-Tillotson University Concert Choir and St. James Episcopal Church Choir. Jabu also participated in Hear There Everywhere, an international artist showcase during SXSW 2013, and City of Austin September Concert. In December 2014, Jabu won the award for the Best Performance during the Texas Solo Artist Awards. He is currently in the midst of collaborating with other Austin artists on future projects.

Before flying over to the Land of the Free, Jabu competed in numerous talent shows including one which broadcast nationally in his homeland. He then released One Heart, a two-version single with a pop and soulful ballad version. Positive reviews and feedback to radio-play of One Heart led to the birth of Kingdom In The Sky two years later.
