"Top 20 Albums of 2013"

Jack Berry's "Heathen Heart" lands at #2 on Blues Rock Review's Top 20 Albums of 2013 behind Buddy Guy's Rhythm & Blues - Bluesrockreview.com

"Pete Francis radio Interview with Jack Berry"

Jack Berry is a budding star on the blues rock scene. The 25-year-old Los Angeles based guitarist released his debut album Heathen Heart at the end of 2012 and is already drawing comparisons to Jack White and The Black Keys - Blues Rock Radio

"5 ARTISTS YOU NEED TO HEAR"

Less than a year ago, Jack Berry released his debut album Heathen Heart and quickly drew comparisons to Jack White and The Black Keys. With crunching riffs, filthy tones, and catchy hooks, it’s only a matter of time before Berry joins the likes of Gary Clark Jr. at the forefront of the blues rock revival. - Bluesrockreview.com

"The Swagger"

Jack Berry’s debut album is nothing short of a resolute and noisy mash up of blues, rock, grit and soul. Heathen Heart is sure to leave you in a state of disarray, with little money, a smoky odor and booze induced memory loss. I would expect nothing less from this hardened rocker from Reno.

The weary spoken word intro to “Rooster Up” is full of blunt honesty, followed by the eruption of Berry’s distorted guitar providing some edgy fretwork that keeps it dirtier than a one star motel bed. The tune is catchy, a heavy chorus and melody makes that hook all the more appealing. “Kiss Like” plows on with a crunchy guitar line, a retrospect of classic instrumental sound from the likes of Jimmy Page or Jimi Hendrix.

While most of the album is a passionately charged onslaught, “Reno” and “Substitute” shows off Berry’s ability to soften the mood while keeping up the intensity of his demeanor over the listener. Berry has a style and certain swagger that belongs to the new wave of blues rock musicians. He fits in well with the likes of The Black Keys and Jack White. Definitely keep an ear out for this man if this is a taste of things to come.

"Yazoo, Palaver Records, and Nashville Fringe Fest Present"

Rambling all around the U.S., but originally hailing for Reno, NV, Jack Berry’s brand of outlaw, troubadour, rock ’n’ roll music is just what we all need more of in our lives. He sounds a bit like Steve Earl meets the Black Keys, and his infectious tunes have a way of sticking in your head. After gigging around LA for awhile, with his backing band Loaded Loot, Jack has now started calling Nashville home, and has recruited a new backing line-up that will be sure to blow your socks off in the late night spot on this bill. - No Country for New Nashville

Bio

Nashville-based rock’n’roller, Jack Berry, bellows an intoxicating blend of rock and blues." (Consequence of Sound) Berry’s grit-littered croons and ample supply of contagious hooks and riffs has garnered acclaim from Blues Rock Review (Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2013, #2 album of 2013, Top 20 of 2016) and The Deli Magazine, American Songwriter Magazine, Too Ten Nashville Artists to Watch, and more.

Originally from Reno, Nevada, Berry left the West Coast, deciding Nashville would be a key in cultivating the style and sound Berry envisioned. It wasn't long until he gained the praise of critics throughout Nashville and beyond, earning him spots at well-known festivals, including CMA Fest, North by Northeast in Toronto, New York City’s CMJ Music Marathon, SXSW’s Red Gorilla Festival, Musician’s Corner, Sloss Fest, Pilgrimage Festival and the Hard Rock Cafe's North American battle of the bands winner. Berry’s single “Bad Dog” was recently featured in the season nine premiere of Showtime’s hit show Shameless. The sophomore effort entitled "Mean Machine" recorded at Blackbird Studion in Nashville, has been called "the perfect example of an old-school genre mixing seamlessly with a contemporary sound” (Pop Wrapped) and earned a 9/10 from Blues Rock Review. Berry is currently on the roster at Round Hill Music as a writer.

"With a voice that could scare the venom out of a rattlesnake, Berry is poised to break through to the mainstream (Consequence of Sound).
