Jack By Accident

Jack By Accident is a spoken word, hip hop artist from London, UK.

I use old hip hop style MPC beats, combined with guitars loops, synthesisers, orchestral instrumentation and samples. I find that lyrics and even music, can't always community quite like real world samples, so I record everything from news stories and political speeches to real life situations that I find myself in, in order to add layers of narrative to the stories and messages being conveyed in the songs.

My debut release will be a set of 3 EP's.

Childsplay EP is a collection of 5 tracks. On each track I endeavour to truly open up and share my feelings about money, the economy, David Cameron, consumerism, competition, self loathing, addiction, mental illness and so much of what makes life seem so wrong.

1-800-MONEY-POWER is a collective piece of music that spans across 3 tracks. The piece was written and recorded in a day whilst I was watching news about the continued unrest in America, the fighting between races all over the country, the continued cases of police brutality and the result of the capitalist mindset in our world.

Circuit Training EP is 4 tracks that are recorded directly on my iPhone. Jack By Accident's music began on the app Figure, which a friend introduced me too. Using the app I would spend every moment creating simple beat, bass and synth loops which I then waxed lyrical over the top of. Using these loops I built the songs that you hear on Childsplay and 1-800-MONEY-POWER so it seemed only right that you get to hear this version of my creative process.
