Bio

Jack & Diane are Independent Recording Artists. Jack is an impressive songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, proficient at guitar, mandolin, lap steel, dobro, and banjo. As a child prodigy, Jack immediately gravitated to guitar, with lots of encouragement to cultivate his talent. Jack’s love of music spans many genres. Elvis was among one of his earliest influences, but as he entered his teens, he was listening to everything from Little Feat to Linda Rondstadt to Earth, Wind and Fire. He balanced his musical ambitions with riding Harleys (and for a stint becoming part of the motor company), building hot-rods and drag racing. He also developed a love of woodworking, which he still enjoys very much. His first professional job with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (at age 13) started him on a career that included touring with Brian Setzer, George Thorogood, and Elvin Bishop. He is also terrific in the studio, having worked on many projects, lending his talents and creative licks. While living in Atlanta, he got the call that changed his life…an audition for Diane’s road band. They wrote, recorded and toured together. Eventually, she became his wife and musical partner.

Moving constantly as a Preacher’s daughter, Diane had opportunities to meet people all over the southeast. She also dealt with several major tragedies in her childhood. She would hide away in closets with her radio to escape the chaos for a while. She always found solace in music and learned early about its power to heal. She naturally gravitated towards choirs and band classes in the numerous schools she attended, where she found a great creative outlet. In her early 20's, she was “discovered” while waiting tables, as one of her customers that night was a Manager in the music business. He saw her singing Karaoke with one of the other waitresses, and gave her his card. Thus, her musical journey began. She worked hard performing, recording, and developing her skills in Atlanta, guided by acclaimed vocal coach Jan Smith (Sugarland, Rob Thomas, Usher). She worked with successful Producers like Brandon Barnes (Brian McKnight), and made trips to Nashville to write with hit songwriters. She performed at landmark Atlanta venues, as well as high profile events like the 1996 Summer Olympics. Music City was calling with a record deal offer, so as soon as she and Jack made the move they became a connected part of the music community.

Jack & Diane have performed together all over the country. From Music Row to Telluride. They are winners of the Tin Pan South/Taylor Guitars songwriting competition, have performed at Tin Pan South, were invited performers for Durango Songwriters Retreat in Telluride, as well as popular Nashville rooms like The Bluebird and The Listening Room. Diane has hosted televised music events for PAX Television, the Annual Songwriters Festival and the Indie Music Week Festival in Nashville, and she has performed the National Anthem for sporting events. You can usually catch Jack & Diane lending their talents to charitable benefits such as The American Red Cross, as well as VIP Functions such as a recent private show with the Governor in attendance.

Jack & Diane just released a new CD, Play For Me, and a music video featuring the title cut. They filmed a TV Pilot Episode of their show with New Direction Productions, currently in discussions with major networks. They founded, perform and host Nashville Unleashed (formerly known as Music In The Boro), a special concert series that was held at The Center For The Arts outside of Nashville up until November of 2010. The show is now on tour across the country. Weekly webisodes will be available to viewers beginning in January 2011.
