Unique tunes with wonderful lyrics.

Biography

My music comes from the mind of a 76 year-old poet. The richness of my life's experience is expressed in my reality poetry. THE ALCOHOL RECOVERY BLUES, for example, can be sung with anger, sadness, or (as intended) humor. Whatever your mood, the lyrics will match it.

Lyrics

A Couples Song

Written By: Jack Dukes

Male duet:
Allow me please to depend and trust
That the person you show me is real
I need to depend on the truth of your words
And commitment to your ideals
Female duet:
I need to depend on the strength of your love
When mine is faltering and weak
I depend upon seeing the mist in your eyes
When your happiness reaches a peak
M/F quartet:
I need to know that whenever I share
The silent parts of my mind
That the answer they get is as great as I give
And so with the love they find.

I Can't Touch You Over There

Written By: Jack Dukes

War is hell in all its glory
Hate and fear get mixed with pride
You don't know the way I lie in bed and pray
That soon you'll be back by my side.

War is hell in all its glory
There's no pride in being maimed
Kill some men today and then just run away
Your enemies are never named.

War is hell in all its glory
Let me wipe away your pain
Leave the war behind, come back to humankind
Choose love and family one more time.

War is hell in all its glory
Come back and do your fighting here
We've got some kids to raise, to teach in other ways, To shelter and protect from fear.

You don't know how much I love you
You don't know how much I care
I m strong and true in al my love for you
But I can't touch you over there.
